Go to an image that you want to display in a journal post and right-click on it, then select “Copy image location”- Now go and open a journal entry (or forum post or whatever) and paste the link in there. It will look something like this: Now, just add an exclamation mark before and after the image and you are done adding an image. Now you can add text and other images and save the work and your image will show up. For Internet Explorer users: 1. Right-click on the image and go to properties. Then: 2. highlight and copy all of that text and then paste it into your journal entry or forum post. 3. Add the exclamation mark before and after the link as shown above. 4. Add other text and images and you should be able to save and see your pictures! —-—-—-—-—-——- Trying to do this using Safari: Here is an image I loaded. I right-clicked and chose “Copy Image Address”. Let’s see if this works:

I have been asked how to get the images on my profile, I hope the following helps. A few people have written about how to get images onto your home page. This is a link for some help link This how to get the image of the card: Navigate to the location of the card public profile then click the picture of the photograph you want, next click buy preview. This page should then show your photograph as a card. Using the mouse pointer, point to the photograph and then right click. A box should open which has a number of options, select property’s and click. Now look under the heading location there should be an address such as http:// etc copy this entire location into the about me section in your profile and insert an exclamation mark at the front and back of this address. To make this a clickable link insert a colon after the last exclamation mark : Then if you want image to link to your buy page for example, copy the page address from the address bar in your browser and insert this after the colon you just placed in the code in your about me section. it should appear like this !Card address!:Page address This works with ANY photograph, to post the framed photograph navigate to the framed version then copy the location and put between two exclamation marks in the about me section or journal entry or add photo section or description box etc.then to link to a web page colon then page address. Note make sure there are no spaces in the code you type! I hope this makes sense. Paul

I consider myself to be fairly creative with my photography, but when it comes to giving an image a title I tend to pretty much say what I see. e.g brooklyn bridge, hippo, etc I wish I could be more creative as the title of an image helps to get across what you are trying to portray. I guess my best bet would be to ask all you creative bubbler’s to come up with the titles for me. What do you think ???

According to my sons, I’m technologically challenged. Today, I have to admit that I agree. Can anyone tell me how to add the framed or otherwise finished versions of my photos to the description? Or how to add images to the profile section? If anyone has the time to provide idiot-proof instructions, I’ll surely appreciate it!

If you want to add a real signature to your images (as in this example), follow the instructions below: 1. Write a neat, readable signature. / 2. Scan it as a picture (.jpg file) at 300 dpi (ppi) / 3. Save the signature file. The following directions are for Adobe Photoshop Elements 5 and Adobe Photoshop CS2 (these are the versions I have). Some minor adjustments may be necessary if you are using another version. The next step is to save your signature as a brush. / 1. Open the scanned signature file in Photoshop. / 2. Select the Marquis tool. / 3. Draw the marquis around your signature (keep it tight to the edges of the signature). / 4. Click on the Brush tool. In CS2: / – Click on the Edit pull-down menu and select Define Brush Preset… / – A dialogue box will open (Brush Name). / – Go to Instruction step 5. In Elements: / – Click on the Edit pull-down menu and select Define Brush from Selection… / – A dialogue box will open (Pattern Name). 5. Next, name your brush something like my signature. / 6. Click OK. The next step is to place your signature on an image. / 7. Open your image in PhotoShop. / 8. Select the Brush tool. / 9. Go to Brush Presets Picker. Scroll to your signature – it should be near the bottom. You may use the square bracket keys to make the signature brush appear larger (use ]) or smaller (use [). / 10. Go to the area where you want to place your signature and click once. / 11. Save the picture as your photo name_Signed or something like that so as not to destroy your original picture. Cautions: / #1 / Images in RB are often cropped to fit to standard sizes. The Card option is one that may crop some of your original artwork depending on the size of the image. Depending on where you have placed your signature, RB may crop some of it away. Always check, by pressing on the buy/preview button in the Public View. You will be able to see if the signature has been cropped. If it has been cropped, load your original shot back into PhotoShop and repeat the process of adding the signature, but in a better position. Re-save the image (overwrite your signed copy). In RB, go to Edit mode for the image and upload the modified image (Change the image), then press the Save Changes button at the bottom of the Edit page. #2 / Depending on where you place the signature, you may need to change the colour of the brush tool. Some trial and error may be required. That should do it. Let me know if you have any problems. Tom You can find all my How To Tutorials by clicking here.

I was recently asked how I make my watermark on my images so I thought this may come in handy for others too. Remember though, that this is just my method. there may be other ways out there too. In a steps process of making a custom watermarking brush and then watermarking an image with it. (this is all done in photoshop) / Say you have your image, all ready… 1. Make a new layer on top of the image you want to add the watermark to, 2. Open a new page to make a brush on, 3. Get the text box and choose a nice neat font, 4. Type ’ © ’ (hot keys = press and hold down the ALT key while typing in 0169) / and your first and last name or business name, / then 5. Flatten that layer, customize that with a logo, an underscore above it for titles to sit on, etc, 6. Flatten all that when you’re done customizing it all, 7. Select the space it occupies tightly, / then go 8. Edit>Define Brush and save it as a brush in your photoshop. / then 9. Go to the image, get the paintbrush tool on 100% opacity, and on the new layer that on your image, put the copyright in the corner or wherever you want it, Option: Maybe add the title of the image with the text tool, / now flatten the title into the copyright by going Layer>merge down / and then 10. Right click on the copyright layer, go Blending options and make the layer less intrusive on the image, 11. Flatten all the layers, save it. / (i save the copyright version of each image separate so i can sell prints without the copyright on it at all if requested)

This tutorial was written for all of the Redbubble newbies. How to add an image to a group is not always clear to newcomers as one would naturally assume that there would be an Add button somewhere on the group page. Unfortunately, there is no such button on any of the group pages. So how do you add to a group? Adding images to groups is done from the edit page of the individual images. Here are some step-by-step instructions to use as a guide. First, make sure that you joined the group. Click on My Bubble Click on Art (2nd menu line) Scroll to your image Click on Edit to edit your image Scroll down the page until you see the list of groups you belong to. Click in the tick box next to the group(s) you want to add the image to. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Save. If you later want to add this same image to a different group, just repeat these steps and click in the tick box next to the new group. Remember to scroll to the bottom and click Save. NOTE: If you uncheck any of the groups, it will remove your image from that group. Happy Bubblin’! Okay, so I’ve been thinking about this for awhile and finally decided to write up a little ‘mini’ tutorial for applying layers to photos. This is by No means the Only way to do it, I’m sure there are better and faster ways, but this is what works for me. These instructions can be used for many versions of photoshop, as of right now, I use CS3 and am working on getting CS4 soon. Note that this is for those of you that have some Basic knowledge of photoshop :) First things first, you want to select and copy the texture that you want to use, it doesn’t matter the size, it can be resized later. Open the photo that you would like to texture and duplicate the layer under the layers menu, I do this just as a backup because I tend to destroy the original in one way or another. Now PASTE the texture layer on the photo layer, you should have 3 layers now. Use the transform tool and grab the texture layer from the corner and drag it to the edges of the photo so that it lines up with the photo, hit Enter when it is centered. Next, it’s just a matter of playing around with opacity until it looks good to you, by increasing or decreasing the Opacity and Fill sliders under the Layers menu, you can change the density of the texture. This can always be tweaked later on as well. After you’ve decided on the contrast of your texture, you can Really bring out the colors and texture by adjusting the menu Overlay slider under the layers pallet, you can do this in a variety of ways: I find some of the ones I use the most (and blend well with most photos) are these: MULTIPLY (to make it dramatically darker) / OVERLAY (which blends the colors pretty evenly, but still darkens the photo) / SOFT LIGHT (very subtle change)and / HARD LIGHT (which brings out the highlights and gives it a more burnt feel) It’s all in how you want the overall photo to look. *If you’d like to take it one step further, you can blend the texture in a bit more by highlighting areas without texture. This helps enhance the areas you want to put more focus on, while at the same time keeping the background textured. You can add a layer mask to the texture layer (which is much better than destroying all that hard work with an eraser-hard lesson I had to learn myself) and use the paintbrush tool (black to erase, white to replace) and paint over the area you want to de-texturize (yea, I just made up a word there). I would also lower the opacity on the paintbrush so the effect is more subtle, you can use multiple strokes if you need to. Remember, you can Always go back into your History pallete and go back a few steps if you mess up! So that’s IT! You should have a beautifully textured photo now, just like an old photo thats probably been sitting out in the sun for Way too long Also, here are a few resources to get you started, I have so much trouble finding the right texture, so I just make them myself: My Textures Some examples: Good luck and have fun! :D
