Looking down at the vast and jagged mountain range, the pilot pilgrim knew that there was nowhere for him to set his balloon down. He felt so foolish as early that day, he ignored the advice of so many, telling him that the only way up to the Mountain Temple of Hu, was by foot. This is another nod to Humes High School in Memphis where Elvis and my parents went to school. / The Humes High TIGERS! I created this one for my Mom. This is an Acrylic painting.

This piece, created between 12 – 15 hours over the space of a couple of days and across 3 pieces of A4, was first sketched, then inked and then painted with acrylics. The JPEG file, once all panels were scanned and put onto one canvas in Photoshop, weighs a hefty 73mb…what a fat ass! Completed 2008. One of my earlier works, in which I reproduced the image of the Blue Nude in contemporary colours. An early experiment in blending medium, particularly with the use of metallic acrylic paints in bronze copper and gold.
