Before my water housing broke, rendering my 20D useless, I used to paddle out on a bodyboard and do a bit of in water photography. One of my favourate things was to try catch the same wave as a surfer and shoot them from behind. This shot was one of my best.

Morning mist rising off Lake Burley Griffin on a brisk Winter Morning is a classic and quite picturesque sight in Canberra. On this morning, I photographed a crew of rowers who appear as ghostly figures as they disappear into the mist. This is one of my earlier images, taken with a fairly simple point and shoot, but the capture was spot on despite the difficult light conditions. I cropped it in post processing, converted it to black and white and made very minor contrast adjustments. © 2008 A Spence. All Rights Reserved.

I took the shoot using fast shutter speed in the fountain and enhanced the color by tinting it with blue tones in Photoshop (add new layer colored with blue and changed the layer settings from Normal to the Color Burn and the Opacity of this layer made lower to suit photo more) / Shutter speed: 1/1600 sec. / F/3.2 /Canon 400D – Macro Lens 100 mm/ Featured in the group “Out of the Blue” October, 2008. / Explore more photos: / /

Here is our Tryner yes it is winter you can’t see it but there is ice all over the banks snow and the water is very cold but can we keep her out of it not a chance Throw the stick Marc!!!! She has such intensity that I have never seen in another dog. I love the water splashes in this one but most of all the look on her face. This Oil Painting 16 X 20 stretched canvas is of the predawn fog at Deception Pass Bridge, Washington. Deception Pass, located at the northern end of Puget Sound, is a treacherous, narrow channel with turbulent waters, rapid tidal action, and rocky outcrops. It separates the high bluffs of Whidbey Island from those of Fidalgo Island. A rocky islet, Pass Island, rises in the mouth of the pass and divides it into two channels. I captured this shot while standing on the Huntington Beach Pier. This girl was a standout among the other surfers in the water. Everyone else was wearing wetsuits for warmth, but she was just as you see her, catching the waves without a moment’s pause. Yes, her hair is wet, despite looking like she just used a blow dryer.
