  • This is painted in acrylic on stretched canvas. I love to paint vegetables and fruit in glass and silver. I like the transparency of the crystal with the distorted green capsicum showing through. Also the way the light reflects off the crystal and breaks into colours on the right hand side. See more of Freda’s works: / Boats / City / Fractals / Stillife / Figures Freda’s website

  • This is painted in acrylic on stretched canvas. I love the way the light shines on apples and the way it interacts with the pattern on the skins. Also the way the apples distort through the cuts in the crystal bowl. See more of Freda’s works: / Boats / City / Fractals / Stillife / Figures Freda’s website

  • This is a framed 14”x 12” acrylic painting on watercolour cold pressed paper of Long Island at the Whitsundays in Queensland, Australia. My first acrylic painting. Painted to keep the memory alive of a holiday my husband and I took there earlier this year. The sea was calm and sparkling with the sun’s reflection, and the day was warm and peaceful. If I made a seachange from the country this is where it would be to. This is nature at its best! Memories linger of times gone by / of sparkling seas and beautiful skies / lazy days of holding hands / love in our eyes and golden sands / never to be forgotten always near / forever treasured and held so dear FEATURED IN / ALPHABET SOUP

  • / “Red Delicious is part of the Portfolio Collection...Acrylic on Canvas…see others from the series below.. “Consider the fate of America’s favorite apple. It emerged from an Iowa orchard in 1880 as a round, blushed yellow fruit of surpassing sweetness. / But like a figure in a TV makeover show, it was an apple that its handlers could not leave alone. They altered its shape. They made it firmer and more juicy. They made it so it could be stored in hermetically sealed warehouses for 12 months. Along the way, they changed its color and hence its name—to Red Delicious.” A. Higgins This exotic poem, with it’s imagery of apple tea, and harems of delight, personifies the abstract vision of the painting…the Delicious Apple encased in Ochre…Janis Sipping apple tea and sucking sweetened fingers,

  • Look into the eyes of this clown. Do you see even a little part of your own soul? If the answer is YES, Betty has achieved her goal. There are several ways to express happiness, pain or other emotions in art. An artist I know said “Every artist paints or draws at least one clown in their career”. Why do you as the viewer suppose this is true? Personally, I think it is. Why? – because it is a way to express the pain or joy we all feel in any given time in our lives. / As many of the portraits of clowns in times past, an illustration of the personal frustration with the circumstances we all face in our lives reflects in this work. The Orignal painting was sold to an Art Collector from NY. • An acrylic painting 50cm x 60cm on canvas of Mill Beach, Australia. A beautiful part of the coastline of Australia where I was taken to recently for a surprise anniversary trip by my husband. The view was spectacular with its sparkling Blue water which contrasted with the Orange colours in the rock formations. A moment in time now captured on canvas to share with you. Bird’s Eye View The sun shone brightly along the shore / The sea was calm, who could ask for more. / A bird perched watching on the rocks nearby, / Content with the view under the clear Blue sky.
