A tiny, tidy room. I am speaking in memories, illusions and pleasantries. The air conditioner is not running and the sun shines through a white window over white wicker furniture and artificial floral arrangements and a tile floor that is not lovely at all, not chic at all, but is always clean. / I am leaving, / scooting around the edge, / feeling my way in the dark, / suddenly unable to breath. / I feel proud of myself for avoiding the obvious. Proud for not bringing it to anyone’s attention. Proud for not mentioning that I was suffocating. Proud that I didn’t let my feelings show. Proud that I was what someone else wanted me to be and not who I am. Proud that I had kept / the secret. / I open the door to get into the car, sniff the air, look down. I must have stepped in elephant poop. / I don’t feel proud at all. This painting is acrylic on canvas. 52”x52” 2008

the cream of the crop, this was how I really learned about dry painting. the original artist use oils and I used acrylics it ended up pretty damn close but I had to use a dry brush technic at the time had no idea how to do after the painting was done I knew how to. Not a Lobo fan, but I love this painting. for those who don’t know who Lobo was, he was DC comic’s answer to Wolverine during the 90s. this painting as taken after the cover of Lobo #1 and painted on the back of a jean vest. / close up: /

Acrylic on 28”x30” canvas Portrait of my Great Grandmother Featured in ‘Southern United States Artists’ / Featured in ‘Da Da Land’ Painted in the style of Van Gogh after doing a study of him My sister, Mary Carolyn, the smart one in the family, told me our great grandmother had 10 children and was a hard working, no nonsense woman of few words who said what she meant and meant what she said, but was also kind and fair. This was painted from an old black and white photo. It looked as though she had a tweed jacket on so I thought Van Gogh’s Self Portrait would suit her jacket well.
