  • This work is about the future that is inside of you. I was originally inspired to create this piece while I was listening to a speaker talk about how God sees us. That He sees us in our completed form; that there is a future YOU inside you right now. He sees all that you are capable of and placed that inside of you when He created you. / In my work I am conveying a majestic, tall oak tree, exists complete within a tiny acorn somewhere in the future. It’s the knowledge of the future that is the key to unlocking it and releasing it. So be aware of your potential and Hold on to YOUR future. “Something very small and average has the potential to be very great.” / - Carrie Glenn Hand drawn images from my own photos, then airbrushed and painted You can contact Carrie at: carrie@carrieglennstudios.com and please visit Carrie Glenn Studios / To purchase the card I created from this work Click Here /

  • Featured in Photography 101 February 3, 2009. / Chosen as “Honorable Mention” in Photography 101’s “Action Photography” Challenge February 3, 2009. / Featured in Movement: Motion Blur November 11, 2008. I took this image by panning the chipmonk with the camera set on “program” ... shutter speed is 1/25, aperture f5.6 and exposure bias .00. Mind you, this all happened so fast I just grabbed the camera and started shooting. I’d probably have monkeyed with the settings a lot more (and totally mess up the shot, lol) if I’d had time to prepare. Image taken October 11, 2008 with the Nikon D40X and the 18-135 lens, the circular polarizer filter was attached. Shot in Claysburg, PA. And yes, that’s a nice, tasty acorn in his mouth!!

  • In Berlin (Germany)... The male peafowl, or peacock, has long been known and valued for its brilliant tail feathers. The bright spots on it are known as “eyes”, and inspired the Greek myth that Hera placed the hundred eyes of her slain giant Argus on the tail of her favorite bird. Indian Peafowl is iridescent blue-green or blue in the head, neck and breast. The back, or scapular, feathers are vermiculated in black and white, while the primaries are orange-chestnut. The so-called “tail” of the peacock, also termed the “train,” is not the tail quill feathers but highly elongated upper tail feather coverts. It is mostly bronze-green, with a series of eyes that are best seen when the train is fanned. The actual tail feathers are short and grey-coloured and can be seen from behind when a peacock’s train is fanned in a courtship display. During the molting season, the males shed their stunning train feathers and reveal the unassuming grey-coloured tail which is normally hidden from view beneath the train. Both species have a crest atop the head which is also present in the females.

  • What every trendy Witch should be wearing also includes a handy wand pocket. Coloured pencil, watercolour, pen and ink.

  • I finally have found a new species! / To Kansas anyway…so far. It is tentively being identified as Amanita microlepis. / What has finally helped to get THAT far is that it is one of very few Amanita species of mushrooms that has cafe au lai color gills. Not the typical white or very pale cream color. The spore print is still white however. / Had a great meeting tonight with the ‘local’ myco enthusiasts. We come pretty much from in the city to a 2 hour drive to get to this group…and well worth the time I think. Our ages range from my son (10) to a few who are in their 80’s. People from every walk of life…a photographer (me) to a couple who have PHD’s. / This beautiful new species, no.1066 for Kansas, was found originally on September 14th of this year inside Jackson Park, in Atchison, Kansas. Yeah for me!
