ACEO, 2.5×3.5 inches, watercolour and gouache, 2008. Mordred is the result of the unknowingly incestuous union of KingArthur and his half-sister Morgause. A prophecy warns Arthur that a child born on May Day will be the cause of his death and the fall of his kingdom, so all the children of nobles born in May, including Mordred, are collected and sent on an old boat out to sea. The boat is wrecked but Mordred survives. He later becomes one of Arthur’s Knights but while Arthur is away tries to seize Guinevere. Arthur returns and kills Mordred, but not before he has dealt Arthur a wound that eventually causes his death.
ACEO, 2.5×3.6 inches, watercolor and gouache, 2009. Aqua sits underwater, her green hair flowing, as she searches for shipwrecks and treasure.

I have always had a fascination for the mystique and beauty of the Venetian Carnivale Masks and, in particular, the Jester masks and would like to do a series of artworks on this fascinating theme. This particular artwork will be the subject of a tutorial on coloured pencil and ink drawing on drafting film on my website at http://www.miniatureartbykhull.com/tutorial_ii_21.html.

ACEO / miniature art of a beautiful Tabby called Neska, with amber eyes, done with coloured pencils and ink on drafting film. Neska’s eyes are actually green in colour but I wanted to add to my series of artwork featuring cat’s eyes ( Emerald Eyes, Sapphire Eyes and Turquoise Eyes). There is such diversity in the colours that cat’s eyes come in and I never tire of admiring the beauty of their eyes.
