  • Was bored again at work this afternoon – I really must look for a more interesting job! I haven’t done any drawing or painting for years, but since joining Redbubble my creative juices have started flowing again. This is just a tiny sketch based on a photo I took of my own eye but I’m adding it to my gallery as a pledge to myself to get my pencils and inks out again.

  • Wine bottles set against a bright light. Challenge Winner in The Scavenger Hunt challenge.

  • This was an experiment with objects and how light bounces off of them. I found this spring and put a few seed beads on it which gave off a weird bokeh effect when placed on a CD. I used my sigma macro lens and the flash on my camera… More experimenting to come though! Enjoy!

  • Taken in ‘Roman woods’, Cambridge. NOT ‘as is’

  • Apophysis fractal no postwork except cropping. It’s a two for one! I couldn’t decide which song I liked best, I’ve been a huge fan of Crosby, Stills and Nash forever and also the Grateful Dead. I like each tune equally!! So…... not to decide is to decide! heh heh Here’s Crosby, Stills & Nash’s Dark Star with some very cool fractal looping video, how apropos huh?! Lyrics: / Forgive me if my fantasies might seem a little shopworn / I’m sure you’ve heard it all before I wonder what’s the right form / Love songs written for you it’s been going down for years / But to sing what’s in my heart seems more honest than the tears I am curious / Don’t want to hurry us / I’m intrigued with us / Ain’t this song a bust / I don’t care dark star I met you several years ago / The times they were so strange but I had a feeling / You looked into my eyes just once / An instant flashing by that we were stealing Another time you felt so bad / And I wasn’t any help at all as I recall / We didn’t know quite what to do so we left the wanting be / Still there for me and you Dark star I see you in the morning / Dark star a’ sleeping next to me / Dark star let the memory of the evening / Be the first thing that you think of / When you open up your smile and see me dark star It’s easy to be with you / Even with the storms that rage beneath your search for peace / We must make some time together / Take the kids and find a world that’s ours to keep Now you’ve got me dreaming girl / It’s been so long that I thought that I’d forgotten how / My heart is once again my soul / We touched we did you know we did no more teasing now / / Chorus Let the memory of the evening / Be the first thing that you think of / When you open up your smile and see me dark star And then, here’s an awesome Grateful Dead jam called Dark Star as well with an equally cool and trippy video! I love these lyrics….... Dark star crashes, pouring its light into ashes. / Reason tatters, the forces tear loose from the axis. / Searchlight casting for faults in the clouds of delusion. / Shall we go, you and I while we can / Through the transitive nightfall of diamonds? Mirror shatters in formless reflections of matter. / Glass hand dissolving to ice petal flowers revolving. / Lady in velvet recedes in the nights of good-bye. / Shall we go, you and I while we can / Through the transitive nightfall of diamonds?

  • ” In a man’s life, his time is but a moment, his being a mere flux, his senses a dim glimpse, and his soul a restless eddy. / The things of the body pass like a flowing stream.. / Life is a brief sojourn, and one’s mark in this world is soon forgotten.” Marcus Aurelius Watercolour on Saunders Waterford Not Paper…a new addition to the series “Everyday Things”... / Still Life with Picture Wire

  • As I was painting this abstract, I pondered the many meanings to the word “approach”...for example there is…. / The simple act of drawing near…. / A way, passage, or avenue by which a place or buildings can be approached; an access. / The temporal property of becoming nearer in time..e.g. “the approach of winter” / The final path followed by an aircraft as it is landing… / My painting is mainly concerned with the last two…I wanted to evoke both meanings of the word…it is the final curtain of autumn and winter is fast approaching..pockets of red and orange gleam here and there, as autumn stubbornly defies the chill, but at night the icy fingers of winter touches everything with frost..in the countryside snow drifts casually down, as if refusing to admit it’s here for good…another look at the painting evokes the final approach to land…stars twinkle in the night sky, the land shows the last vestiges of fall and the approach of winter….we are excited, relieved to have made it home safely once more... Watercolour on Aquaboard The half-stripped trees / struck by a wind together, / bending all, / the leaves flutter drily / and refuse to let go / or driven like hail / stream bitterly out to one side / and fall / where the salvias, hard carmine— / like no leaf that ever was— / edge the bare garden. William Carlos Williams / A Conjunction of Elements / After The Harvest / There’s A Light in the Darkness / Midnight on Egdon Heath / Reflected Glory / Tightwire / Realities
