This quirky painting is of my cat Zorro and his favourite food, fresh snapper! Acrylic On Canvas, measuring 60×60cm. Just a fun painting I did earlier this year when I first thought that this would be a good time in the year when I made a decision to rekindle and embrace my creativity.
Ever day we come closer and closer to our own destruction, by over fishing and the poltion we dump into our seas ,oceans . rivers and streams ..This is happening ever were ….all over the world. / Is the end to this our own demise. / In years to come we will think back and tell our grandchildren how we once were able to fish freely any were we liked…. and how we were able to walk on the sandy beaches and pick up shells. / There will be no more fish or animals atall if we keep on our same path. / Unless we change now, we are the beging to our own end.
acrylic on paper 14”x17” / Dancing in lighted pools of Jello-textured neon. “That’s the way to do it,” an old stranger called to the young man who, being suddenly aware of what he was doing, stopped, looked over his shoulder and glanced down at the ragged multi-colored sheet that was pulled tightly around his shoulders. He leaned back and peered up at the sun. Smoke rose from the side of a brick building and the odor or ginger floated through the air. The source of both puzzled him, as he remembered distinctly thinking he was the only person in the world just a few moments before. The old man smiled a toothless smear of flabby lips and bowed down to the dancing youth, who smiled back, jiggled aimlessly for a few seconds on thin, scratched legs and then sat down on a patch of grass in from of a building that had been painted by clowns. The young man pulled back the corner of his gown of rainbow hues and let out his heart, which had been beating all along, but in being freed, started to do a dance all of its own, though it had no legs. It also sang, which surprised the young man as he had always thought he was mute.

Taken at Kempenfelt Bay, Lake Simcoe, Barrie, Ontario Canada on Monday June 2nd/08. Leaning over the docks I noticed this school of minnows that kept dispersing and rejoining in intricate patterns in the water. My husband did not think I should upload this to RB but I find it an interesting abstract of the underwater world. From drizzle to drowning. From dawn to middle of the night dreams that wake me up with a “pow.” That’s it. The answer. Then in the morning the drift falls from a darkened hollow into swirls of vapor and across a seaweed forest. My pencil scrapes. My brush strokes. Awaken. Awake to dream again. A struggle to find an answer that is forgotten in the effort to do do do what I think I must must must and drive myself crazy trying to escape. To sleep on my feet in a daydream of forest palms towering over and pools of languid, blue, mirrors instead of piles of dirty laundry. Or maybe it is all really the same. / The answer laying in the soft white shift of a sheet from a drier in sunlight and waving at the light’s own laughter at the sun. / acrylic on fabric. about 4 ft x 7 ft not stretched. Ascension is about love and its power. Anahata is the chakra located in the heart region. iI has 12 petals and it is connected to the capacity of loving deeply and also to the feelings of compassion and empathy. It is generally depicted in the color green, but in my mind it appeared in luminous yellow with hints of red. It is through the anahata chakra that we can contact universal love. It is the main point of contact to the so-called “inner Christ” and the upper planes. Other symbols I used to represent the same concept are the water, running upward in a straight blue stripe across the picture, and the fish. The fish is connected to the Pisces sign and also to the primitive Christianity message. Both symbols are related to universal love and compassion. The skull means that loves transcends even death, and leads to a deep transformation. It also has the meaning of the XIII arcane, Death – things that die to give place to other ones, a deeply alchemical experience. The upper figure is representative of a state of ecstasy and bliss conduced by deeply spiritual experiences. When we are able to achieve a full state of love, even for brief moments, we feel like we are connected to something bigger and higher. Experiencing love is also a totally libertarian thing, which I wanted to show through the hawk with open wings emerging from all the violet at the top. It’s only through love that we can transcend our material condition and achieve perfect happiness and fulfillment.
stock model is my lovely daughter, Catriona / cate-stock.deviantart.com the rest are my own personal stock and one from dreamstime I know this is WAY off from my usual – as a matter of fact, this is my most abstract piece I think…at least with a person in it. Hope you like it and that it’s not too weird and that the colors are easy on your eyes. :) Claudia / xoxoxoxo

Liquid Watercolor on Yupo (Robert Doak paint) These poor little fishies don’t have a chance with this big guy coming at them. Yet that is the underwater world – big fish eat little fish. Sometimes I don’t like reality, but it is what it is, and part of life is accepting things as they are, and often it is not on our terms. I guess this shows my soft spot for the little guy, the underdog. Swim little fishies swim, with all your heart, mind and energy!!
An abandoned pleasure craft up on blocks at St Marks, Florida … hunting around underneath the hull I found some wonderful art work. Nikon D90 with Nikon 60mm macro on tripod f/13 1/40s ISO 400. I see waves rolling in one behind the other, with the dawn sun catching the one about to break on the shore.
ORIGINAL SOLD / My very first sale of an original painting, at my first exhibition. Mixed media on canvas / Acrylic / Gold Leaf / Pastel / Detail from Ophelia 09 Inspiration: “There is a willow grows aslant a brook, / That shows his hoar leaves in the glassy stream; / There with fantastic garlands did she come / Of crow-flowers, nettles, daisies, and long purples / That liberal shepherds give a grosser name, / But our cold maids do dead men’s fingers call them: / There, on the pendent boughs her coronet weeds / Clambering to hang, an envious sliver broke; / When down her weedy trophies and herself / Fell in the weeping brook. Her clothes spread wide; / And, mermaid-like, awhile they bore her up: / Which time she chanted snatches of old tunes; / As one incapable of her own distress, / Or like a creature native and indued / Unto that element: but long it could not be / Till that her garments, heavy with their drink, / Pull’d the poor wretch from her melodious lay / To muddy death.” William Shakespear
30×40cm Watercolour on Canson 300 gsm of a water wonderland. Played around with my watercolours just dropping the paint on creating a wet in wet background.
