  • Getting late. Something is undone. Something I said or didn’t say, do or didn’t do. Getting late. I need sleep, but can’t rest. Until it is done. Yet I can’t remember what. / The wind rolls through hills of concrete and wooden poles holding flags of piety and mourning. The rain falls with silent rusting swords that slide through the night’s red mountains, creating cavities of unsung songs, untold stories and unmade love. Fearing that it is too late, I hide behind a wall of color, fabric and light. It exposes itself and myself and inside the swollen damp humanity I lie in wait. For God? Oh, no. For you. / Forgive me for I have given my being to the gentle stabs of poetry and paint, the awesome folds of the flesh, the violent plunge of my brain’s illusions. / I know I should be seeking a Lord. / But I only search for your touch on a long, slow, dark night, that seems like winter, yet boils with summer’s sweat and burning skin. / Is it too late? For you? This painting is acrylics on linen, 60×60 inches.

  • This image is more of a personal work and was generated while I was working through both the physical and psychological (more psychological) problems related to my car accident. Emotional Disfiguration was created using Photoshop. It combines three of my own photos and two drawings. The two drawings are of an eye and of a textured sphere; they are blended into the background elements representing eyes within the image. The background textures are made of three different layered and manipulated photos (close up images of natural textures). © 2008 Comments welcome. Limited edition (5) archival prints will be available soon from my web site: DAViD M. ALLeN

  • For some, emotions have a physical and/or chemical explanation as the origin of emotions… for others, emotions are the origin of physical and/or chemical changes. / For me, Emotions Are.

  • The other side of the scientific explanation of emotions… soon you’ll know from our scientists exactly why you cry and how you can prevent it from ever happening again. But there’s one sure recipe to prevent crying forever: kill (extirpate) the soul! Now, one can be so free, light and more than ever, Beautifully Empty. ..of course I’m sarcastic here, what were you thinking? Don’t make me cry, for goodness sake! I don’t want or need to be explained by science.

  • “The Red “ / Red, a bold color symbolizing instinct, strong emotions, power, and physicality expressed through the fractal flame. fractal art by Leah McNeir Fractal, visionary, psychedelic, abstract and mystical T-shirt designs inspired by sacred geometry and ancient symbolism

  • “Its not easy facin up when your whole world is black” Sometimes.. there is the darkness.. and all the colors seem to disappear.. moments of anger..wanted to be heard.. but the sound of anger still frightens me.. as if i’m gonna loose myself if i do let them have a voice.. After loosing two loved ones in six months time at a certain point i felt this anger that overwhelmed me completely and it scared me.. so i hid it.. deep down inside of me.. knowing that if that door would open i wouldn’t be able to hold it down.. i was able to hide it for almost 18 years and then other experiences opened that door.. and still i tried to avoid it..being afraid of what it could lead to.. but in the end in order to be able to live, really live instead of just surviving – what i have done for a long time- you need to look at your demons.. so i let them have a voice.. this creation reminds me of accepting my anger if ever it wants to be heard again..
