My art seems to be featured more and more of late, which is a good thing. But oft times I am away for a few days and miss the opportunity to thank the hosts of the various groups for this honour. Not to boast (well maybe a little) but if I put all my features as thumbnails on my page, there would be no room for anything else. So to the hosts of the many groups, thank you, it really is to me a great honour when my work is featured. I mentioned in my earlier post that I had recently given a presentation on Abstract Photography. It’s not a style of photography that I often go out of my way to produce, just something that always seems to result as part of any photographic outing that I make. This week I spent some time on a couple of Gower beaches searching for a more interesting rendition of an often photographed landscape (Mark Button fans look away now). The weather was unpredictable – as usual – and generally overcast, so I took the opportunity to experiment with my favourite approach to producing abstract images – movement. Panning the camera left-to-right whilst making a relatively long exposure I was aiming to produce images in the style of Rob Carter’s Travelling Still series. Admittedly I didn’t have the rotating lens camera he had at his disposal, but I found it relatively easy to produce pleasing images. See HERE for other examples. Certainly a technique worth pursuing at future landscape locations.

I cant wait, / In a coulple of weeks I am traveling from where I live in Newman to Kunnanura to photograph the Australian Safari with Dirtcomp magazine. http://www.dirtcomp.com.au/ / http://www.australiansafari.com.au/ The Safari travels all the way from Kunnanura to Perth and goes through Newman about half way, so I will have about 7 days on the road and I hopeing to not just shoot motor sport, But to take in the Kimberly’s, Broom as much of the north west as I can, and cut sick with the camera!! for myself too.
