This is the first in a series of explorations into The Lost City theme. Symbolic representations of my own life. Collage of various extractions from my photos and worked in Photoshop.
Had to travel to Adelaide for work, was trapped inside all day, though managed to escape for about 30 minutes but being in the city this is as close to seeing the sunset as I got.
This is picture is from an original artwork composed from graffiti elements found around various cities and re-done in composite form. The original is a 500×500 canvas print.

I was inspired by the contrast and affect of soft, quieting snow to busy city life and its bold structures. This was mainly painted using a palette knife and heavily textured with impasto. Found this lurking in a hard drive. Taken from the Eureka tower last year just before they banned cameras in ‘The Edge’ – a glass ‘box’ that extends out from the top floor and hangs over the city 92 floors below. This image was taken through the floor of ‘The Edge’. I adjusted the levels aggressively and burned the reflections of the people to make them stand out more. /
