  • A selection of my digital work based to a greater or lesser extent on the urban landscapes of north west England. I like to think I am following the English landscape tradition of art. These works often start by scanning a conventional drawing, I then work on the result digitally, this is the reason why some of these works look very much like conventional drawings. They may still look like drawings but there are really nothing like the original scanned drawing.. so working digitally allows me to create entirely new images from existing drawings and paintings. Buying a calender is a good way of multiple images at a keen price. With my work being quite varied, I find creating a calender is a useful way of grouping similar types of images together. / Its also a good way to purchase a number of my images at a very reasonable cost. Its a mini one man show ! Thanks for your interest

  • Many stories present themselves in the bark of trees. As with the projective test, the Rorschach, the viewer projects his perception of visual images. As I began to explore digital photography, I became acutely aware of the vast of images in the bark of trees. The illustrations told me stories and as I presented these pieces, viewers participated by offering their perceptions. My visual acuity developed the more I explored the textures and layers of bark and I began referring to this perceptual experience as Bark Art. This calendar presents some of the images I discovered as the trees told me their stories.

abstract – information provided by wikipedia:

Abstract art is now generally understood to mean art that does not depict objects in the natural world, but instead uses colour and form in a non-representational way. In the very early 20th century, the term was more often used to describe art, such as Cubist and Futurist art, that depicts real forms in a simplified or rather reduced way—keeping only an allusion of the original natural subject. Such paintings were often claimed to capture something of the depicted objects' immutable intrinsic qualities rather than its external appearance.
