Canon 20D – 17-40mm L – 17mm – 1s – f/11 Antelope Canyon is the most-visited and most-photographed slot canyon in the American Southwest. It is located on Navajo land near Page, Arizona. Antelope Canyon formed over the course of millions of years by erosion of the Navajo Sandstone, primarily due to flash flooding and secondarily due to wind erosion. Rainwater (especially during monsoon season) runs into the wash that Antelope Canyon is part of, picking up speed and sand as it rushes through the narrow passageways. Over time the passageways are eroded away, making the corridors wider and smoothing hard edges in such a way as to form characteristic ‘flowing’ shapes in the rock. Upper Antelope Canyon, called Tse bighanilini, “the place where water runs through rocks” by the Navajo, is the most frequently visited by tourists, due to two considerations. First, its entrance and entire length are at ground level, requiring no climbing. Second, beams (shafts of direct sunlight radiating down from openings in the top of the canyon) are much more common in Upper than in Lower. Beams occur most often in the summer months, as they require the sun to be high in the sky. / In the same series: / / /

Upper Antelope Canyon Is a spectacular petrified sand dune, created by wind, water and sand, presenting a sculptured masterpiece. / My Navajo Indian guide was lovely and explained many of the legends associated with this area. Was so lucky at one point to have the canyon to myself, peaceful, serene and incredibly beautiful. / . / WARNING / ©2008 Globalphotos All rights reserved. / All photographs, text and images by Globalphotos are the exclusive property of Globalphotos – protected under Australian and international copyright laws. / These images may not be reproduced, copied or manipulated without written permission. / No use for Public Domain. / Use of any image for another photographic concept or illustration is a violation of copyright.

FRUITION OF THE SEEDS OF VIOLENCE / OIL / $1400 US (ORIGINAL 14” X 18”) / SIGNED DEDICATED PRINTS AVAILABLE The Creator Breath has spoken to me in deep repose and has whispered in my ear that my thoughts are like seeds. Which thoughts I water will bear fruit. And what fruit I bear will either be sweet or sour, good or bad depending on which tree I water. When I was young I met an old Indian man whose wisdom was as deep as the ocean. I asked him how to travel the right road? How to know what to do? And how to be a good man? The wise elder said, ” I have two dogs who live inside of me. One who is good and one who is bad. These two dogs constantly fight with each other. Each trying to win my thoughts, my heart and my soul”. I was astonished by his simple words and then I asked him the all important question, “Which one wins?” He paused and thought for a moment and then said, “The dog I feed.” visionary imagist “Joey”

A horror piece inspired by the multitude of atrocities man/woman inflicts upon him/herself and the rest of the world for personal gain, and in a lot of cases just for the hell of it.

Photographic based digital montage – Feb, 2008. Created over several hrs…2 nights this week (suffering from concussion) from an accidental fall over the wk’end. Photoshop montage combining digital shots of jewels, scanned samples of vintage style wallpaper and added drawn elements. Fifty layers retouched, blended, filtered, colour & tonal curve adjusted. I want to use the design as a furniture (upholstering) fine velvet/suede fabric for a small round bedroom foot stool. Nice to spend time on my own artwork. After work husband Dave & I pretty much spend all our spare time renovating/working on our 123yr old vict. terrace…so a bump to the head stopping me in my tracks wasn’t such a bad thing after all.

This is a TTV image of a Willow tree in the Japanese Garden in Portland, Oregon. This was taken using my 35mm digital camera through the view finder of my antique Argus 75 medium format camera. It has been enhanced in Photoshop to give it that “wispy” quality.

Plenourium Inarticulatus the capital of Terrigenous Myxedema after a Whistie raid destroyed most of the major population centers of the planet. Terrigenous Myxedema was a thriving financial center on the frontier between the Fartherthantruth Alliance and IPUP. The Whistie leader targeted Terrigenous Myxedema because it would not convert to their dogmatic faith, the Lite Weight Church. Just before the raids the governing council converted all their financial resources to IPUP Credits and stored them on Jorelton Prime. The Planet broke away from the Alliance applied to the IPUP for admission was accepted and began the rebuilding process with the IPUP 18th Fleet patrolling the area for security. The planet took 1.5 dreens to recover from the attack of the Whisties. Surrealism. As the light of day slowly dims, do you ever take a moment and enjoy watching as God paints another masterpiece using the setting sun, the sky and the clouds? If you missed your chance in reality, you can always find tales within the twilight skies in the land of Bryce. / / © Dave Moilanen 2008
