Hand drawn A2 image on cartridge paper with a G-Tec C4 0.4 pen probably took about a year to do, but I don’t pay attention to the time or the drawing until it is nearly complete. Just been looking to buy some more pens and found out the drawn line is only 0.2mm! Featured in Works on Paper winner of the Patterns challenge in Finks in Ink

My art is based on everything I see around me. This is from the idea that eyes are the windows of the soul. A2 on cartridge papar with a G-Tec C4 0.4 pen. Can be viewed any way up it is up to you.
The original painting is 30” x 20” acrylic on 4 cm deep stretched canvas frame. You can find Original art for sale from the Arts-fine online gallery

Her tiny limbs strolled about the canvas shroud as if searching for a sunbeam that had existed only in another person’s dream. / Because she had been born a miniature, the family thought her cute, like a doll or a toy. Yet her soul was much larger than the sunrise and her emotions more urgent than an earthquake. Everyone woke with a start. The jiggling of her chains and the jagged teeth of her chattering pierced the smell of onions and garlic that still lay over the household from the evening before. The odor of broken beer bottles crunched in the nostrils of everyone and everyone was nobody was all the family that she never knew and never had and always wanted if only because she didn’t have them in the first place. / Now in order to go forward the creatures around her placed a quilted coverlet over her and pretended she wasn’t there. After all, they did have to go to work. / While they were gone she froze to death only to thaw in the evening when lights were low and television sets blasted red and black slashes of screams over the broken window panes. / Then one night they turned the TV off and allowed her to dance and sing. They didn’t like it much. However she felt much better. As a matter of fact she began to grow. In less than a week she had sprouted several feet. Then she had to decide whether to grow more and become a giant or grow wings and fly away. Decisions, decisions. Why could nothing ever be simple?

I was born 1963. I drew this work using blue biro pen on card way back in 1982 when I was just starting to learn how to draw, properly??? I must confess that I’m really not very good at maths-which is my worst subject in the whole wide world!/(my best subject was english); but, I must have been aged somewhere around 18/19, then; and, still a mere teenager. I’m now aged 45; and, the year is 2008. I recall at the time being very interested in the work of Pablo Picasso; and, the way he would create abstract female nude forms. I could never get my own work to look quite like being an actual Picasso? So, I guess, it looks more like being my own entirely unique form of abstraction, instead!
