Your love’s a gathered storm I chased across the sky / A moment in your arms became the reason why / And you’re still the only light that fills the emptiness / The only one I need until my dying breath / And I would give you everything just to / Feel your open arms / And I’m not sure I believe anything I feel And now, now that you’re near / There’s nothing more without you / Without you here And I’m trying to believe / In things that I don’t know / The turning of the world / The color of your soul / That love could kill the pain / Truth is never vain / It turns strangers into lovers / And enemies to brothers / Just say you understand / I never had this planned And now, now that you’re near / There’s nothing more without you / Without you here / Without you here / There’s nothing more without you / Without you here My head lies to my heart / And my heart it still believes / It seems the ones who love us are the ones / That we deceive / But you’re changing everything / You’re changing everything in me And now, now that you’re near / There’s nothing more without you / Without you here (lyrics – Without You Here -Goo Goo Dolls) *S E L F P O R T R A I T morph 1

I created this out of a boring sky pic, that I was going to delete but never did- maybe because I liked the ripples in the sky. Well I cropped then mirrored it, and played with the colors until it turned out like this. :)

On a visit to the Jardin Botanique in Montreal I was captivated by the Chinese Garden. Various ponds and streams had huge floating islands of lily pads. But it was not until I rested that I discovered these two lily pads and the reflections, just over the side of the bench I was sitting on. Taken in macro mode. “Life is not merely a series of meaningless accidents or coincidences, but rather it is a tapestry of acts that culminate in an exquisite, sublime plan.” -from the movie Serendipity Featured in the Abstracts From Nature group July 2008.

Mangrove shoots are reflected in the calm water in a local wetlands reserve (marsh for our overseas friends). This was taken on a nature walk just a km from my house.

Had to travel to Adelaide for work, was trapped inside all day, though managed to escape for about 30 minutes but being in the city this is as close to seeing the sunset as I got.

Here’s one I took today… I like it for it’s simplicity. This leaf also was placed on a mirror.

Foggy, rainy, near dark, in my car at a stoplight. What can one do? Turn the lemon into lemonade – a clever way of saying that I embelished (heavily) the reality. / / / / . / Please view also my other work.. / : / Thank you for visiting.

This was made in Vue d’Esprit in a genre called hubism, after the developer of the technique, Hubert Schaefer, of Germany.

Here is another one from my macro collection. Again, I’m my own worse critic so wasn’t too sure about this one so I’ll let you decide.

Reflections on Dotombori river, Osaka, Japan.

I finally bought a simple macro lens for my new camera and this is my first official macro shot I’m adding. This is actually tiny (about 3-4cm or just over 1 inch) dried up piece of twisted grape vine I picked off the fence with a water drop which was reflected by the sun. It’s definitely different to my usual work but why not?! It reminds me of a lantern..

Yosemite National Park: Ottoway Lake reflections, as the sun sets. Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature’s peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy, while cares will drop away from you like the leaves of Autumn. John Muir
