/ The latest additon to the Everyday Things Collection is “Still Life with Picture Wire” ....this series is very personal to me in that they represent objects and tools, that are part of my life…I remember being told long ago by an art expert, that it is best to paint what you know, and I feel that the things I use, not only contribute to the quality of my life but have an intrisic beauty of their own... Mighty Leaf teabags are so pretty even when used…all that stitching and silky mesh / Astonishingly, I just found out a couple of days ago from Mingtees, about a world famous artist who has painted the very same everyday things that I do…’How wonderful” I thought…most of those pieces were done some time ago and I am very curious to see how he did them…his newest works on exhibit at the Pace Gallery now include the real tools actually hanging from the canvas…it proves to me that we certainly don’t work in a vacuum…there are probably many other artists around the world who feel the same way as I do and paint the same things... Rumination on the steps of the Metropolitan Art Museum I sat for a while on the steps of the Metropolitan Art Museum / I had just seen / Floating particles and dropped off meanings / Touching like lava light blobs / Bouncing off texture and complex simplicity / Meanings given at birth and bastardized in the long run / Feelings erupting at levels of sub matic matter / Mattering only at our convenience / Then loosing bits and pieces in sandy beaches and / Digging holes to China / Deleted in our script along the way… / Attention: roll call / Attention: orderly kisses / Attention: take no prisoners / Dropping off like parachutes landing in the / The Phantom zone / Hologram pictured eyes staring back / Like the king of hearts stabbing his sword into / Wet dreams, swamplands, infested with flies / And biting thugs / Old armor staged with proper respect and / Then there is always the string of light / Glorious light / They all knew that / Welts to remember when one find their way out / On these steps leading to paradise lost to famous / Dead people / Who write their name at heavens gate / Who gave us the prescience of heaven in all their blood / Of victory / Before everyone discovered the art of allowing / Back then they sacrificed for the light / For the dream / For the future / For more than could even be imagined / Tierney / Blasphemy / Scandalous In awe falls short of my devotion to these / Saints of Light!
