  • From original oil on canvas artwork

  • My intention when I did this painting was to take an everyday situation – like looking out for the post-man and turning it into a vibrant and alive moment in time! / No matter how small and trivial things may seem – there is always something else going on: one just has to take a look at that poor fish! I lik this painting, my friends say it makes them feel like ”...putting on their dancing shoes!” / (It’s a frustrating fact, but for some reason this painting just won’t upload to the right proportions – it’s living it’s title to the full – and just NOT conforming!) Please visit my blog for more of my artwork or for inquiries on original paintings if I still have them available.

  • Ok… so I decided to work on an abstract I am more comfortable with. Unlike my last entry this is a representational abstract, acrylic on canvas, size is approx / 78cm x 62cm. Enjoy, smile and leave your feedback. Oh, one last thing, the detail of paint layering is totally lost in this digital image, but isn’t it always? Carms. x

  • This for you Terez , my lovely daughter , she died when she was nearly 15 …... Thank you my friends your comments and support mean a lot to me. I had this pain bottled up in me so so long… but I knew and hoped with time passing things will change and turn out good… I was right, things started to unfold last week and I could just see and feel it. Working with this wonderful model just inspired me and brought all those feelings up from my heart, bones and my most inner part. I loved every minutes of it and it gave me a wonderful peace of mind. / The original is 120cmX100cmx2cm , oil on canvas , SOLD !. / You can see this picture in a nice interior here / Hope you like it…? / Thank you dear ANAISNAIS/Anna-Marie for this beautiful writing here. / TURNING OVER / Clock strikes, / every second my heart stabs / another injection of grief, / as streams wash the contours / rushing the valleys of guise. Memories. / All I behold now you have gone, / besides photographs and diaries. / I stare at you and you are there, / besides me once more. Turning over, / another page lets me slowly learn / to accept this new place in time / where I find myself surrounded / by loneliness and sorrow. This is not, / of course how you would want me to be. / Were you with me now you would hold me, / stroke my face and comfort me. / Loving me, happily. Together, / we have shared these memories, / so many times, turning over, / those beautiful pages of times / roaming through contours of life. I recollect, / how we walked valleys and streams, / where we played, picniced and slept. / Turning over the page you stay with me, / through the treasures we have shared. Now at night / when I’m lonely, in those early cold hours, / turning over I’ll remember and cherish / those beautiful gifts given so freely; / and thank God for the time that you lived. / / /

  • Acrylic on Canvas 75×100cm. (Commission – Original Sold) A snippet from my blog 21 April 2009 / Painting Commission – Claudia’s Gift A couple of months ago I was asked to do a rather unusual commission. I say unusual because the buyer saw a painting of mine on the internet. They considered purchasing it, but after much deliberation decided instead to commission a work. The original inspiration for their commission being my painting ‘Between Takes’ as pictured below. / ! / http://images-1.redbubble.net/img/art/backingcolor:white/product:greeting-card/view:preview/2340565-4-between-takes.jpg! The young buyer (through her Mum’s wallet) had several requests and thankfully they put them all together in a brief for me which I worried about being able to stick to. / Here’s a snippet of that brief: / She likes the female in Between Takes because she is: / -Pretty, elegant and sassy with delicate features, yet she is fun, bold and out there / -She is wearing a very fashionable/designer/funky outfit (very youthful appearance with use of the striped legs) / -She loves the white fluff of the skirt, it is interesting and softens the outfit beautifully / -it is a full body painting and not just a head and torso / -it is simple and clean with not too much distraction, it is very much about the girl / -she’s not wearing any jewellery / -fun dramatic/theatrical feel / -bold yet delicate/beautiful detail / -she loves the colours and in particular the lime green/yellow background / Colours she likes: / -pink/purple/lime yellow/lime green/black/gray/silver/white / Other Preferences: / -Medium length layered hair/colour similar to By The Light Of The Silver Moon (no fringe/medium brown with purple/other coloured streaks) / -Eye colour being hazel/green / -Devon Rex Tigerlily Purple (larger female cat) / -Cat not to dominate painting / We did wonder if we could incorporate fashionable fairy wings in her designer outfit (fluff and silver leaf perhaps)?! Commissions can be difficult because they normally come after a painting that has been painted intuitively. I tend to just paint and enjoy the process and let my instincts lead me. With commissions there is much more work on a conscious level – and the challenge is in being able to please the buyer, stick to the brief, maintain a sense of spontanaity and most importantly not to compromise one’s own style and enjoyment. After all, a painting done without love and enjoyment is not a painting worth owning. One only needs to look at the thousands of cheap mass produced paintings being produced in Asia and then later easily discarded when the decor is changed. I strongly feel that work of this type diminishes the value of one off pieces painted with love and care, not to mention that these are potential artists with much to offer the world, churning our mass produced cheap pieces because of the need to support their families. / / So, with all this in mind, and me being well and truly a month over the patient client’s requested deadline, I present to you “Claudia’s Gift”. One thing must be said and that is that the photograph doesn’t do this painting justice. The small elements of silver leaf, pearlescent effect and subtle textures are lost and flattened out in the digital image. However, I think the photograph still enables the viewer to enjoy an overall sense of the completed artwork. Thank You as always for visiting… and stay safe. x Carmen. • Here’s another new painting. Acrylic on Canvas. Original is available for sale although it’s going to exhibition at the end of May. Happy to sell it prior though and exhibit with a red sticker if you are interested : ) Size: 76×51cm

  • (Uploaded especially for my new friend Mike Scholl. You must check out his work – brilliant!) 75×100 x 3.8cm Acrylic on Canvas. There is an exhibition coming up and I have been asked to submit 8 pieces of figurative work. I thought I had completed this last September but it’s just bugged me! Anyway last week I decided to work on it again. So, originally we had this (rather unattractive boring red head) / / and with a few alterations we now have this much more friendly gal.

  • You give me rainbow butterflies / Your hand touches mine and I feel / The wisdom of oak trees line up / And we walk that lane which shines / Both of our spirits on parade Your wings are vibrating those / Colors that catch the light / My eyes are green to emeralds delight / As you listen for my lead / The one I took from our Spirits creed We make a pack of lovers bliss / That all things are possible with / One soulful kiss / That all who know us or come / Our way / Are blessed with knowing / All things are possible / Today. Linaji 2009 All things are possible if we start right now to believe that here in this moment is our POINT OF ATTRACTION / That no matter for how long or what has been going on that does not seem to work can change in an instant if we understand that everything that can ever possibly happen can only happen at this point in time. NOW That everything changes when we start to see that life is suppose to be FUN and we can allow the infinite possibilities to formulate the best path for our desires to manifest. I have never seen this more true than my own life. As everyday I soften my thinking to better feeling thoughts I experience new vista’s to guide me towards that which I am becoming and that which I desire. Today has been such an easy day full of butterfly vibrations and lovely sounds and visions and YOU! xox
