  • Pop Art is a visual art movement that emerged in the mid 1950s in Britain and in parallel in the late 1950s in the United States. Pop Art challenged tradition by asserting that an artist’s use of the mass produced visual commodities of popular culture is contiguous with the perspective of Fine Art since Pop removes the material from its context and isolates the object, or combines it with other objects, for contemplation. The concept of Pop Art refers not as much to the art itself as to the attitudes that led to it.

  • Robert Francis “Bobby” Kennedy (November 20, 1925 – June 6, 1968), also called RFK, was the United States Attorney General from 1961 to 1964 and a US Senator from New York from 1965 until his assassination in 1968. He was one of U.S. President John F. Kennedy’s younger brothers, and also one of his most trusted advisers and worked closely with the president during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He also made a significant contribution to the African-American Civil Rights Movement. After the John F. Kennedy assassination in late 1963, Kennedy continued as Attorney General under President Johnson for nine months. He resigned in September 1964 and was elected to the United States Senate from New York that November. He broke with Johnson over the Vietnam War, among other issues. After Eugene McCarthy nearly defeated Johnson in the New Hampshire Primary in early 1968, Kennedy announced his own campaign for president, seeking the nomination of the Democratic Party. Kennedy defeated McCarthy in the critical California primary but was shot shortly after midnight of June 5, 1968, dying on June 6. On June 9, President Johnson assigned security staff to all Presidential candidates and declared an official day of national mourning in response to the public grief following Kennedy’s death.

  • As I look at an image of this piece I am at a loss as to how I should describe it. It’s like the joke; you just had to be there. Again this is a mixed medium of a digital print that in and of itself stood on its own. The addition of paint and cutout reliefs for effect is equally strong as its mother work. The carefully placed splashes of paint give it energy. I think of this as a hyper active child. A hyper active child can be very entertaining as long as said child is not your own. Unlike its parent this child does not give your eye a rest. It is as if the square in the middle is spewing out all sorts of stuff like vomit from an exorcism. Like an exorcism you cannot help but look. No amount prayer will tame it down. What makes it all work is there is nothing quite like this very unique unruly prodigy. Any and all art created by me are “One Of A Kind”. This is so the original retains its integrity and value. As such will be signed by me or by an appointed executer of my estate should I die before all my work has been sold. If properly cared for all art created by me is crafted with materials selected to with stand the test of time, regardless of medium.
