  • My intention when I did this painting was to take an everyday situation – like looking out for the post-man and turning it into a vibrant and alive moment in time! / No matter how small and trivial things may seem – there is always something else going on: one just has to take a look at that poor fish! I lik this painting, my friends say it makes them feel like ”...putting on their dancing shoes!” / (It’s a frustrating fact, but for some reason this painting just won’t upload to the right proportions – it’s living it’s title to the full – and just NOT conforming!) Please visit my blog for more of my artwork or for inquiries on original paintings if I still have them available.

  • This is obviously not an original idea, and I want to thank both ECGardner and Angelique Brunas for their works along these lines that motivated me to explore my own creativity. I hope they do not mind my using their work as a basis for my inspiration, and I am still working to achieve the balance, beauty, and artistry they have exhibited through their respective nature based collages! I will give folks a while to guess what the various panes are comprised of, they should be pretty easy to figure out, later I will insert the proper descriptions of their contents. As always I can not say often enough how wonderful the Redbubble community is and how happy I am to have found it during it’s infancy so that I may grow along with it into a more complete and accomplished artist! / / / / Portfolio Areas / / Tigers / Wildlife / Macro / Landscape / Birds / Abstracts / Cats~wild and domestic

  • ..am feeling at peace this morning, because it’s cold & windy out there but very cozy in cyberspace lol! ...this wonderful poem written by sweet Sally Omar ...SERENADE OF SOULS . / “it was a low whispering / a murmur ever so faint / that drove me closer to heaven / for pictures it did paint / i could hear love and peace / and murmurs of total joy / a serenade so profound / for only me to enjoy / it was a time when i was lonely / and felt no one was my friend / i was somewhere in limbo / close to the edge to the end / suddenly in the evening / when all the lights were turned low / the murmurs started / they started out very slow / i could hear so much love / a choir of Angels did sing / and in my loneliness / heaven and peace they did bring / the voices got a little louder / and spoke of the love of our Lord / Jesus is our Saviour / and in the end is our reward / from that day forward / i danced toward the heavens so sweet / knowing my Lord and Saviour / one day I would meet.” by Sally Omar / a first experimental digital creation using apophysis & flower photo from my garden… ...

  • Experimenting with watercolours today I created this loose one out of my imagination picturing a peaceful place full of colour and wonder. 10×12” watercolour on Arches paper. Twilight ‘Tis the light between day and night / the glow of the sky is such a sight. / The time in between hanging in the air / the rays of light proud in their glare. The sun’s flame paints the sky / shadows falling the bird’s cry. / Magical images fill your mind / the mystery of nature is one of a kind. Linda Callaghan

  • For Rob. Towards the end of the novel, The Unbearable Lightness of Being, Milan Kundera writes: “And therein lies the whole of man’s plight. Human time does not turn in a circle; it runs ahead in a straight line. That is why man cannot be happy: happiness is the longing for repetition.” I wondered then when I first read the novel—some 20 years ago, and I wonder today about the relationship(s) (probable and hypothetical) between happiness and repetition. We would be warm below the storm / In our little hideaway beneath the waves / Resting our head on the sea bed / In an octopus’ garden near a cave We would sing and dance around / because we know we can’t be found / I’d like to be under the sea / In an octopus’ garden in the shade We would shout and swim about / The coral that lies beneath the waves / (Lies beneath the ocean waves) / Oh what joy for every girl and boy / Knowing they’re happy and they’re safe / (Happy and they’re safe) We would be so happy you and me / No one there to tell us what to do / I’d like to be under the sea / In an octopus’ garden with you. / created with Apophysis & PSP
