Completed 2004 age 18 I was inspired by the Japanese artist Hiroshi Senju, who tends to limit his colors in his paintings. Sometimes he paints an image where the background is the complimentary colors of the subject. His style is simple but at the same time intense, where the foreground stands out from the complimentary background. Medium: Watercolors This is a painting done in my sketchbook. The paper isn’t watercolor paper, but at least more durable than regular printing paper. One of my favorite trees is the Autumn Blaze Maple. The photos in this series are compliments of my neighbor. I love to sit on my porch and enjoy the beautiful shades of red! /

I took this sometime in the summer in my bathroom. There was a giant spiderweb on the window so I sprayed it with water… most of it ended up on the window which is the bokeh you seen in the background. Enjoy!
This was an experiment with objects and how light bounces off of them. I found this spring and put a few seed beads on it which gave off a weird bokeh effect when placed on a CD. I used my sigma macro lens and the flash on my camera… More experimenting to come though! Enjoy!
Simply water droplets and the patterns they make… This is condensation on a water bottle, I used my macro lens for this one and the background was my computer screen. :D Enjoy!
From drizzle to drowning. From dawn to middle of the night dreams that wake me up with a “pow.” That’s it. The answer. Then in the morning the drift falls from a darkened hollow into swirls of vapor and across a seaweed forest. My pencil scrapes. My brush strokes. Awaken. Awake to dream again. A struggle to find an answer that is forgotten in the effort to do do do what I think I must must must and drive myself crazy trying to escape. To sleep on my feet in a daydream of forest palms towering over and pools of languid, blue, mirrors instead of piles of dirty laundry. Or maybe it is all really the same. / The answer laying in the soft white shift of a sheet from a drier in sunlight and waving at the light’s own laughter at the sun. / acrylic on fabric. about 4 ft x 7 ft not stretched. The Human Abstract Pity would be no more If we did not make somebody poor, / And Mercy no more could be / If all were as happy as we. / And mutual fear brings Peace, Till the selfish loves increase; Then Cruelty knits a snare, / And spreads his baits with care. / / He sits down with his holy fears, / And waters the ground with tears; / Then Humility takes its root Underneath his foot. / / Soon spreads the dismal shade Of Mystery over his head, / And the caterpillar and fly Feed on the Mystery. / And it bears the fruit of Deceit, Ruddy and sweet to eat, / And the raven his nest has made In its thickest shade.
