I love shooting at night, and generally am out alone when I’m shooting – it’s when I produce my best work (in my mind anyway). / / This is one of my favorite places in the city. You can sit here alone for hours, traffic streaming past, only the occasional pedestrian, while hundreds, or even thousands of people are just a few feet below. It’s both a quiet spot to find refuge, and a place that symbolizes the loneliness and isolation that can be experienced in a city of millions. © Sara Lamond 2007. This is the print version of my artwork Original 24”x36” Acrylic and Mixed Media on Canvas. Sea anemones, boney fish, dancing seaweed and strange spongy things, are all some of the mysteries from the deep sea that I playfully and brightly portrayed on canvas in this cliché “Deep Green Sea”. It’s not your ordinary Deep Blue Sea; it is dimensional with unique mixed mediums, such as methods of tissue paper layering portraying seaweed. As you study this abstract work the animated color combinations will remind you of the salt-water life that lives deep down below us. Created from many pen doodles on reverse side of junk recycled band pamphlets (Snow Patrol – YAWN) from my old job… scanned in and some good old photoshopin’ Enjoy trying to find all the little secrets, enjoy watching your friends scratch there academic heads at this one… Makes M C Escher look like an accountant :P Peace skateboard? /
