Macro shot of a multicolored leaf.
I finally bought a simple macro lens for my new camera and this is my first official macro shot I’m adding. This is actually tiny (about 3-4cm or just over 1 inch) dried up piece of twisted grape vine I picked off the fence with a water drop which was reflected by the sun. It’s definitely different to my usual work but why not?! It reminds me of a lantern..
Here’s one I took today… I like it for it’s simplicity. This leaf also was placed on a mirror.
Rusty wall with lime leaking through. Created a interesting, abstract structure…

I love how water clings to different objects and creates such shapes… This is just an ordinary dandelion puffy thing after it rained one day. Taken with a Sigma 105mm macro lens…
Deeply inspired by Anathema’s ‘Closer’. “You’re closer to the truth, within you… is the truth…” Thanks for looking! :)
This is a blue version of Hive, a recent photo I made which was part of an experimental series showing the television screen seen through various objects used in the living room. This one is a macro shot of a bundle of drinking straws, aimed at the TV. Obviously, the screen was showing something blue! The actual straws measure less than 5mm in diameter. I used a shorter focal length for this one, and we can see more of the straws in it. Focal length 22mm / ISO-100 / Aperture f/5,6 / Shutter 1/3 sec. / Shot in manual mode / White balance set to tungsten Nikon D60 / AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f3.5-5.6G VR / Close-up filters: CU+1, CU+2 and CU+3 Featured in the group Unconventional Artistry on January 3, 2008 RB Homepage feature on August 28, 2009 Finished in 8th position of Top 10 in the Blue Abstractions challenge of the Out of the Blue (75%+ Blue Artwork) group on January 13, 2009 Finished in 3rd position of Top 10 in the Black With a Hint of Blue challenge of the Black With a Hint of Colour group on August 27, 2009
i am very happy i stumbled upon this today. (11 feb 2009) Here is some panels of the fence that i took close up photographs of. As you can see each panel of fence has a completly different pattern, colour and texture. I have a fair few photographs taken and I have been able to produce some fantastic pieces of art. I think it is a fantastic find!!! / This abstract image is a little part of someones garden fence! Every strip of fence had been weather treated, but all the strips were completly different. i took lots of pictures as there were so many fantastic different shots. The wood fence looks as if it had been coated with weather stain, then it looks like a coat of tar had been applied, then it looks like the treated areas of the fence were blistered by the sun, leaving behind a some wonderful abstract art! i think that this picture looks like the sea – a field – hills – horizon with trees on it. / im uploading this picture, and i may upload another. i have cropped this picture slightly. i have adjusted the brightness/ contrast/ hue and saturation a little bit also, just to bring out the brilliance of what i photographed.

Close up of an African Zebra taken at Buenos Aires Zoo. Probably one of the most interactive and best kept zoos I have ever visited. Animals are looked after quite well, and are being raised in captivity to save them from extinction. The zoo allows a percentage of their profits for conservation of the Argentinian wildlife. While I’m not sure I agree with animals being caged for any reason, it is nice to know that this zoo is here for many reasons, including conservation. Cropped original image and increased the contrast and brightness slightly. Many thanks to Shelly Heibert for creative help with the title for this one! Abstract Macro Photography The picture below is a stolen, burnt out car. / This is showing the rear right side. / You can see what has been produced by the fire / Armley Woods, Leeds. / sunday 31.5.09 / 7.15am / For all these phenomina to appear on the car, the car has been left on fire, and eventually, there is nothing left on the car to burn, so it just dies out. the paint work on the car , bubbles up and seperates itself from the metal at very hot temperatures. / Once it is all cool down, it is very delicate. / You just blow the flakey paint lightly, and this abstract art lies beneath. / If the car had been put out by water, im pretty sure that no abstracts would have appeared.

An abandoned pleasure craft up on blocks at St Marks, Florida … hunting around underneath the hull I found some wonderful art work. Nikon D90 with Nikon 60mm macro on tripod f/13 1/40s ISO 400. I see waves rolling in one behind the other, with the dawn sun catching the one about to break on the shore.
