  • This is a digital abstract piece mixing different fractals. /   /   / © 2007 Nodakami

  • Charcoal drawing and Apophysis image, layered in PaintNet.

  • Belief, hope and imagination are perhaps the three most important ingredients in life (love is a given). It’s been said that a picture needs not be explaind, but I want to tell how I arrived to the version you see. I was looking at the picture as I took it and, from a certain bent of my imagination, I had the impression it looked a bit like a bird with the wings spread in flight. And that inspired me to give the original a “magic touch” and make it look more like a dream flight. The transition into blur and B&W would like to depict the undefined boundaries between the normal awareness state and the dream state, that particular place or state where anything and everything is possible and where all the miracles of creation happen: the land between the ordinary and the miraculous. I hope I have captured that essence. / / 08 December, 2007 —- / 84-46-988 - 09-11-26 / -—- /

  • Digitally altered oil pastel drawing with Apophysis layers All profits from the sale of this work will be donated to the wildlife victims of the Victorian bushfires.

  • I borrowed this Apophysis image from Mandy Moore cos I fell in love with it and needed to play with it! It doesn’t actually look much like the original now. If you haven’t seen her work you’re really missing out on something. :o) / http://www.redbubble.com/people/mistywisp

  • Contemporary abstract floral. Acrylic on canvas.

  • In my most recent series: ‘Face Navigation’ , I have used the fluidity of watercolour painting to express a personal perception of self and others. There is an awareness of the universal human condition through facial expression, and in some cases I create a progression of images, exploring the changing perception of a person by deconstructing facial recognition. As there is a shift over time in attitude or mood, there is a corresponding shift in visual interpretation. Sizes variable, average sizes 250×102 mm. Watercolour on rag paper. / / Web: www.littlemalopgallery.com.au For availability of original work, please contact Robert Avitabile at: METROPOLIS GALLERY / 64 Ryrie Street / Geelong, Victoria, AUSTRALIA 3220 Telephone: +61 3 5221 6505 www.metropolisgallery.com.au

abstract art – information provided by wikipedia:

Abstract art is now generally understood to mean art that does not depict objects in the natural world, but instead uses colour and form in a non-representational way. In the very early 20th century, the term was more often used to describe art, such as Cubist and Futurist art, that depicts real forms in a simplified or rather reduced way—keeping only an allusion of the original natural subject. Such paintings were often claimed to capture something of the depicted objects' immutable intrinsic qualities rather than its external appearance.
