This is probably a constant topic of my entries but again I find myself asking what is the difference between a photograph and art? Ignoring the very abstract and studio shots, how is one photograph artistic and not just another postcard shot? Any opinions?

Re: Subject: Zazzle Content Review: Not necessarily stoned / / Discussion Thread / Response (Erik) 03/28/2009 04:35 PM / Dear Zazzler / .. to why the freak am I so controversial, as regards Zazzle … Zazzle galleries are public and users may contribute content freely. Although we make every effort to ensure that the marketplace are kept free of copyrighted or otherwise inappropriate content, sometimes certain inappropriate products may become available for purchase. We rely on the efforts of our users to bring inappropriate products to our attention by using the “Report violation” link that is located on every product page. This will notify our Content Management Team to review any potentially infringing products. Best Regards, / Erik / Content Management Team / Zazzle.com, Inc. Which means, relying on the efforts of their users, one of their “users” reported me for a violation within moments of my having created the shoes when they were in my ‘private’ products. In other words, where a user wouldn’t have seen it, only someone like a print manager or somesuch. Shades of deviancy meander through! ..... And, this was my reply to them: Oh, well, I am not sure how a user could have seen my shoes, to report them, since they were under ‘private’ products and I had not shared the link with anyone. However, since it is not a personal vendetta by anyone, and only an honest and forthright reporting, then, I assume all other products that make the same violation, only which REALLY make the violation since my work is an abstract and did not bear either Mr. Hendrix’s name or likeness, will be removed now that they have been brought to your attention. Right? I shall be sure and check on this, bright and early tomorrow, before deciding what, if any, further action should be taken on my part. I do hope I do not find you showing further favoritism to others, or, conversely, prejudice against me, in this matter. Thank you and have a pleasant evening. / ..................................... This sort of thing makes me so sick. They were my own private shoes of my own private piece of art, for goodness sakes! What happened to freedom of speech, and the artist owning their own work, and etc?

I know!! Do YOU?? A.D.A.W.G stands for Abstract Digital Art & Writing Group and what a fantastic group it is! It is a group where people who like to mix their digital artwork with words, not necessarily poems but any sort of writing can submit works. It allows for alot of freedom in art, which I love. In the last few weeks A.D.A.W.G have been kind enough to Feature 3 of my works. All 3 had very little comments but A.D.A.W.G found the spirit in them and bought them out into the spotlight for me so people could enjoy them more and for that I am grateful. I produce alot of work for others to enjoy in some form and the 3 Featured works were of this kind so I am happy they did that. They were.. / Billion Dollar Baby / / part of a 3 part set called Dark Teens you may have seen it here just a little reminder to parents to keep their eyes open when it comes to your teens… They Featured The Dark Continent… / / My special Tour around Africa’s interesting places, which has Wiki links to each one. I painted that Africa so that recognition was nice too. If you want to check out Africa you can here This week they have Featured another work I made for you, called The Bronze Age… / / You can learn all about some great stuff reading that one, I love the Bronze Age era and wanted to share it with you guys.. / Check out The Bronze Age here I don’t think you will be disappointed. Here’s the A.D.A.W.G Group, have a look, maybe it is for you too! Thanks, / Vanessa :O)

Just for fun I made and posted a video of my colorful abstract digital images on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AhQXjVQfoFk The jazzy music is by my younger son but he didn’t want credit! The images pan, shrink, or grow gently as it flows along. Each frame has the image name. I used the program ProShow Gold. It is from www.photodex.com and is fairly inexpensive and also offers a free two-week trial. Let me know what you think! Cheers! Betty

Koppitz is best known for his works of the human figure including his iconic Bewegungsstudie, “Motion Study” and his use of the nude in natural settings.

abstract art – information provided by wikipedia:

Abstract art is now generally understood to mean art that does not depict objects in the natural world, but instead uses colour and form in a non-representational way. In the very early 20th century, the term was more often used to describe art, such as Cubist and Futurist art, that depicts real forms in a simplified or rather reduced way—keeping only an allusion of the original natural subject. Such paintings were often claimed to capture something of the depicted objects' immutable intrinsic qualities rather than its external appearance.
