  • When I took this photograph I was standing about 100m away with my telephoto lens zoomed in on the doorway because I liked its blue colouring. Just as I released the shutter, the lady stepped through the doorway. It was a perfect moment!

  • From a project entitled ‘hay bales and onion balls’. / I was driving home to Wellington from my parents house in Masterton and spotted this scene that beckoned capture. / I’ve always loved these old falling down houses and barns and know that one day they will most certainly all be gone. A lith effect was applied to this shot. / See my website www.lisawilsonphotography for the whole project.

  • Paradise- is a Persian word that go to the other languages roots that is generally identified with the Garden of Eden or with Heaven. Originally meaning a walled garden or royal hunting grounds, the term entered Jewish (and eventually Christian) beliefs as a Greek translation for the Garden of Eden in the Septuagint. It is sometimes also identified with the bosom of Abraham, the abode of the righteous dead awaiting Judgment Day. In the Gospel of Luke, Jesus tells a penitent criminal crucified alongside him that they will be together in paradise that day. Painting using acrylics, inks and pigment

When you hold yourself hostage, be it in a physical or mental nature, you may be depriving yourself of something potentially beautiful, holding back from the truth trying to cage away the bits you don’t like and revealing only what you think others will approve of. • Balingup, Western Australia I only met Bruno briefly. He kept to himself, preferring distance. So when he sent a message allowing me to photograph his old stables, I was hugely honoured. He stayed out of sight while I wandered the stables, but his goats and geese kept an eye on me! • My husband made this Flicker (Woodpecker) nesting box, bird house. Eventho, it is Fall, now they had a look and perched on the top and flew away. So now we just have to wait with baited breath for next Spring to see if we get any Flickers. The Northern Flicker (Colaptes auratus) is a medium-sized member of the woodpecker family. It is native to most of North America, parts of Central America, Cuba, the Cayman Islands, is one of the few woodpecker species that migrates, and is the only woodpecker that commonly feeds on the ground. There are over 100 common names for the Northern Flicker. Among them are: Yellowhammer, clape, gaffer woodpecker, harry-wicket, heigh-ho, wake-up, walk-up, wick-up, yarrup, and gawker bird. Many of these names are attempts at imitating some of its calls. Photo taken by Canon IXUS
