  • This bag was left behind at a bus stop. Child abduction came to mind, so I waited for the right sets of feet in the right spot. The high contrast emphasises crime and intense colour reflects childhood. Newtown, Sydney.

  • Every now and then when I feel a bit stuck for good single shot inspiration, I like to create something odd. This image was the result of one such time…

  • It seems about 15% of the world’s population claim to have been ‘borrowed’ by aliens. However, like library books, they do seem to be returned unharmed, apart from their minds being well read. This painting gives a general idea of how most say they are abducted – an uplifting experience. If you are one of those people I’m sure we’d all like to hear from you. Acrylic on paper.

  • The abduction of Persephone “Far from Demeter and Zeus, she was playing with the deep-bosomed daughters of Oceanus and gathering flowers over a soft meadow, roses and crocuses and beautiful violets, irises also and hyacinths and the narcissus which Earth made to grow at the will of Zeus, to be a trap for the bloom-like girl—a marvelous, radiant flower. The meadow was a thing of awe to see: from its root grew a hundred blooms and it smelled most sweetly, so that all wide heaven above and the whole earth and the sea’s salt swell laughed for joy. And the girl was amazed and reached out with both hands; but the wide-pathed earth yawned, and Hades sprang out upon her. He caught her up reluctant on his golden chariot and bore her away lamenting,to the underworld forever more.” * / 8 days of countless hours, trashing it and starting over and over and over till I got this. I think I am happy now! !0.redbubble.com/img/art/border:blackwithdetail/product

  • For over a year, I have written the story of Ged who was chosen by her father, a well respected King to find the abducted princess. He has traveled through many solar systems risking his life to save the golden haired lady. The team sent on this mission have climbed the steps of Mystic Mountain and when they reach the top of the stairway, they are shocked to find out that the huge rocks can move and in a very threatening voice warn these seasoned warriors that no man that has entered the forbidden territory has come back alive. There are men on bridges near the top of the mountain who are a few of the many who guard this territory. Ged, has traveled through many solar systems risking his life to save the golden haired princess. Ged is swimming under one of the many waterways to find the phylum where the princess is sequestered. Tonight is her initiation into the Swift Running Tribe who plan to indoctrinate her using mind control after branding her with the tribe’s fertility marks. The princess is unaware that Ged is swimming under the waterways to reach the breeding pool (the graluz) before the initiation rites begin. Time is running out. Mystic Mountain and Tandaloor are part of this story and can be viewed in my portfolio on RB. • Medium: Acrylic Paint on Acrylic Paper / Size: 10” x 14” / Description: Based on the eighth song from the Tool album 10,000 Days, Rosetta Stoned was a joy to work on. This was a preliminary painting for a the bigger version. The 8th song on Tool’s 10,000 Days, Rosetta Stoned, tells the story of an estranged loner who tells the tale of how he was abducted by aliens and told how the world will end. As the story progresses, the central protagonist reveals that he doesn’t remember the message and as such, is considered insane. Interestingly enough, one possible meaning behind the song is that the abduction never happened and the central figure did, in fact, have a ‘trip’ on DMT, a hallucinogenic drug known to cause alien abduction hallucinations. So, how you choose to look at it is down to you. For my piece, I knew that I wanted to paint the alien. The orb that the creature is holding is what he shows to the loner where, inside, it reveals the secret of how the world ends. Of course, even if such a being could show a person how the world was to end, we as a race would never really understand what it was saying anyway. Its terms of reference would be, for better a word to describe it, alien and thus we wouldn’t be able to gather any understanding to it. Its a little like this: my two friends who play guitar often talk about pick ups and line outs and the such and as a drummer, these sorts of terms mean very little to me and so I don’t understand what they are talking about. Now imagine that a creature from another world had something it wanted to show you. This is in fact another possible meaning to the song itself. The abduction happened, the man just didn’t understand what the creature said. • This innocent park bench had been hijacked by a ruthless horde of tulips. I was told that the bench had been released by its captors before the onset of fall, but is currently living in fear of the approaching spring season. • I spent a summer in western Colorado quite a few years ago and remember a town called Alamosa, when you drove into town there was a big banner sign across the road that said Alamosa Flying Saucer Capital of the World, Home of Snippy the Horse. Snippy the horse made world-wide history on September 7, 1967 when she became the first reported case of “Unexplained Animal Death” just 20 miles from Alamosa, CO at the foot of Mt. Blanca in the San Luis Valley. / Snippy’s body was found with her skin and flesh “surgically” cut away from the shoulders to the tip of her nose with no visible tracks or blood found on the ground near the body. The heart and brain were missing from the carcass, and a formaldehyde-like odor was reportedly emitted from the animal for several days after her discovery. There were also reports of abnormal radiation at the scene. At the time Snippy’s owner said she was positive that extraterrestrials were responsible for horse’s death. Many community residents, and even a Superior Court Judge, reported seeing UFO’s at the time.

  • Cattle abductions and mutilations are on the increase – if you’re in the field keep a low profile.

  • Rock like bark is a material I use frequently to create abstracts from nature and to tell science fiction and fantasy stories. I have created Planets to tell a continuing Space Oddysey. Ged the main character is sent through the universe to explore several planets and encounter life threatening adversity to save the abducted Princess. Each planet is paired with descriptions of alien beings based on science fiction and fantasy literature. Reading the stories enhances the / total artistic presentation. I also pair nature’s abstracts with the timeless classics of children’s literature that can be viewed in my portfolio. The / Velveteen Rabbit, The Giving Tree, The Earthsea Trilogy, The Little Prince, and other / classics of children’s literature that also are / priceless literary achievements for adults from eminent writers like C.S. Lewis’ Chronicles of / Narnia and Tolkein’s, Lord of the Rings. / Like Oscar Wilde, George Macdonald who / influenced C.S. Lewis and Tolkein are less / known for their classic fantasy tales for / children. My favorites include The / Princess and The Goblin, The Light / Princess, The Golden Key, The Princess / and Curdie, The Wise Woman and many / others.
