I saw this old house on the side of a road while I was riding my bike in a Century Ride in Shelby County, Alabama (USA). I had to stop and take the picture. I applied some filter effects to make it more artistic and appealing.

I’m still bored…...This was taken 23.10.08 on a trip to Melbourne, it has a nightmarish feel to it I think..

Frost on an old running shoe sitting on a snow bank. 1 half of the pair I used in garden and I left them outside because they were muddy. Later in the winter when I was shoveling snow I dug this one up and left it on top of the snow. A few days later there was a heavy frost and I when out to take photos of it when I spotted this frosty shoe thought it would made a neat picture. Three shot HDR taken late this afternoon inside the old Cellulose Paper Mill between Millicent and Mt Gambier in the Limestone Coast region of South Australia. The Mill is slowly being renovated section by section by the new owners and becoming home to a range of industries. This section is still untouched and is as it was when the macinery was taken away. Canon 400D – 18-55 HDR processed in Photomatix.

This is in the high lands of Tasmania on a property that was owned by a fellow from the States. He passed away leaving it to his sons some 20 years ago, in all that time they have never visited this property, or at least that is what the locals told me.

A machine room in an old roof tile factory. The machinery is dated from the early 1920’s and the factory itself was abandoned in 1988. This was the sign of a chocolate store in Rundle Mall, Adelaide. It had so much nostalgic charm to it, couldn’t help myself. Whenever I see an old chocolate shop, I can’t help but think of Charlie & The Choc Factory. There is a sinister side to that movie, and the original novel too. I wanted that to come through on this. Abandoned and run down, post Willy Wonka, what happens to a place that looks happy, but is in fact, not?
