  • Abandoned Grain Elevator in Montana. Watercolor.

  • Located in Kennicott a town in the centre of the Wrangell-St. Elias National Park and Preserve, Alaska. The main feature of the town is the adjacent glacier and abandoned Kennecott Copper Mine. There are a couple of tourist stores and a hotel. But to get to Kennicot you walk the footbridge across the Kennicott River and join a shuttle bus service which travels the short distance to McCarthy and on up to Kennicott. Kennicott is a fantastic place for delapidated buildings, structures and mining material. Some of the miners huts and other buildings are being renovated/rebuilt. But with the harsh winters there is always more to be done each summer.

  • My first atempt at HDR

  • Hiking in Oisans, France. Start from Besse. There is several farm in ruins in this area. Imagine how hard that had to be to leave and work in the past at the altitude of 1900m.

  • One of the many photos I snapped while driving cross country from Maine to Arizona.

  • Low tide at Spurn point… The serenity of the rippled sand defies the fact that the surface was constantly shifting under the duress of a bleak wind. A perfect accompaniment would perhaps be Toru Takamitsu’s chilling minimalist score to Hiroshi Teshigahara’s haunting ‘suna no onna’ – ‘Woman of the Dunes’.

  • I don’t think I will ever tire of photographing beaten up old plant machinery. Corrosion seems to imbue such rich personality to already imposing lumps of steel. This tractor seems to have spent much of it’s life hauling lifeboats ashore on Spurn, but now lies forgotten – salt etched & rust scored…

  • Sunset hitting old farm house. In Country Victoria on the Penshurst – Warrnambool Road in between Koroit and Kirkstall.

  • This abandoned house out in the woods has been visited lately. There is rutted lane leading up to the old house perched on the hill. Maybe someone was exploring to see if the house still contained something interesting?

  • Prypiat nicknamed ’ the city of roses ’..

  • An old abandoned finca below this iconic rock in a remote part of Tenerife

  • This is actually a sepia rendering of “Broken” using imaging software. This is not an old photograph, it’s just made to look that way, but I’m very pleased with the results. Taken in Castletown, Caithness ATTENTION BLOGGERS! / I reserve the right to determine where my art is posted. If you want to post my image, you MUST obtain my consent! • Colorful flowers in a garden in the Aran Islands, Ireland. Photographed with a Sony DSLR and modified with Gimp.

  • An 1875 schoolhouse in Prince Edward County, Ontario. The clouds radiate out into the azure blue sky as if ghosts of the past from this well preserved building seen here from a rural road.

  • Abandoned wooden cabin covered by green vegetation. www.swissphotogallery.com
