A spiral weather vane or wind vane made of colorful strips of cloth and sprockets, is captured in a way that creates an abstract, yet only some parts are sharp to give the viewer an idea of the object and how it works. / CONSIDER THIS IMAGE AS A COMPANION! /
Hiking Through the Woods in the Wasatch, Rocky Mountains, east of Salt Lake City, Utah, USA, I Came Across this Spider Web with its’ Tiny Host in the Center. It Caught my Eye as it Glistened with Refracted Light From the Sun. The Backlighting Illuminates the Intricate Web Work Well. This Natural Spiderweb Abstract Photograph was Digitally Manipulated Using Photoshop CS2’s “Blur” , “Render” and “Lighting” Filters to Intensify Artistic Effect.

Droplets of Water up close. / God’s design is amazing!
Some mistakes are for keeps. Everything was right except the focus. / Low Sun, nice shadows, highlights, lines colors and lighting. / I’m not sure what happened here. I could guess, but it doesn’t matter. I am very happy with the result. It’s a keeper! I find it hard to not keep staring at it.
My mother and my daughter whizzing by on the bumper cars at the Forster Christmas Carnival. I was going for the blurred background with their car in focus…i guess it worked ok :)

A female daddy longlegs spider, Smeringopus sp. (family Pholcidae), just dropped a “bunch” of babies! Yes not a boll of dust or rubbish! Hundreds of tiny little spiders! / There is a worldwide urban legend that daddy longlegs spiders are incredibly venomous, probably the most venomous in the world. Perhaps this legend has its roots in ignorance, but more likely it is a case of “mistaken identity”. Although daddy longlegs spiders are completely harmless, they can be confused with the dangerous violin spider, because the two species are superficially similar. Like daddy longlegs spiders, spitting spiders (Scytodes spp.) and false violin spiders ( Drysmusa spp.) are harmless, but can also be mistaken for violin spiders

by Eva. Untouched, as is, straight from the camera – Penkax k20d. This is a berberitz (not sure if it is called that in English) which I spotted in Baden-Baden, Germany. We were walking along a street after a rain shower and I played around with DoF. The background is actually a tarmac road. Usually, the last thing I would want in a nature photograph is to show hard and dark tarmac but I liked the warm grey tone offsetting the red hues of the berberitz. I found it gave an elegant touch, along with the jewel-like drops. / Thanks for looking and reading! / ;o)

“The Bhakti path winds in a delicate way. On this path there is no asking and no not asking. The Ego simply disappears the moment you touch him. The joy of looking for him is so immense that you just dive in, and coast around like a fish in the water. If anyone needs a head, the lover leaps up to offer his.” ~ poetry by Kabir Copyright © Sharon Mau 2009 / My images do not belong to the public domain. Reproduction is strictly prohibited. This beautiful green beetle I think is a type of cucumber beetle…resting on a rain-drenched bull thistle bloom. / I don’t grow too many ‘problematic’ plants in my gardens but starting this past summer I decided to grow more and more of our ‘native’ plants rather then integrating new species. / Found in NE Kansas this past summer.
Taken with a Nikon D90, 18-105mm lens. Cropped, otherwise as is, straight out the camera. / Melbourne, Australia.
