Many dreams are forgotten or lost by the time we awaken fully, but that is not usually the case with dreams of flying. Flying dreams are very often a precursor for lucid dreaming; a dream state in which we are aware we are dreaming and can manipulate the outcome of the dream. Freely flying as high or as low as you wish using your arms or feet for direction, often with the ability to do acrobatics in the air is an indication that you feel really superior about something in your life. Featured in – The Birds, February 7, 2009 I can’t help but dream of summer, and much warmer temperatures, when I look at this image. This piece consists of 6 layers (the background, 5 different layers of pretty lavender blooms, and an adorable little american goldfinch). After merging all of the layers in PhotoShop I digitally painted the entire piece in Corel Painter X. This art started out as a photograph of a black-capped chickadee sitting on a cedar tree branch in the woods behind our home. / After several hours in Photoshop and Painter X this is the final result. Every pixel of this piece was re-painted (digitally) by hand to give the image a painted look.
