  • An old photo but I thought I’d dig it out of the archives for you. This is a young Amur Tiger named Zambar (left) admiring his father (Gamin)’s nice sharp gnashers. The next moment Zambar put his head in Gamin’s mouth, but as typically happens, I ran out of space on my flashcard! :o(

  • Adult Snow Leopard – for those of you who remember Vishnu, the cub, this is his mother.

  • Baby Red Squirrel. mercilessly stalked by JackyP and myself at the British Wildlife Centre in Surrey, Saturday 20 September. Our better halfs had to nearly drag us away from these entertaining and soooooo pretty critters! We even thought that RB should now be renamed Red Squirrel Bubble!!! :o) First published pic out of my new Canon EOS 50D, which I collected that morning! I’ve even read some of the manual! How sad is that?! ;o)

  • Red Squirrel, British Wildlife Centre, Surrey, England. Dubbed “Squirrel Nutkin” in honour of the Beatrix Potter tale of one of his ancestors!

  • I will donate 50% of my profit from any sale to Cancer Research. See my profile for more information.

  • Fennec Fox / Vulpes zerda Weighing three to 3.5 pounds, the fennec fox is the world’s smallest canid. Home Range / Northern Africa, Sinai and Arabian peninsulas Habitat / Deserts, arid areas Diet / Vegetation, rodents, birds, and their eggs, lizards, insects Reproduction / Two to five young Social Structure / Travels in family groups, in pairs, or alone; active at night Fun Facts / Those satellite-dish ears help the fox hunt at night—it can hear prey moving underground—and keep cool. Fur on the soles of the fennec fox’s feet help protect them from hot sand.

  • Another macro shot from the Sigma 150 f2.8 marco. Dropped the levels seriously after playing with selective colour. Cropped it in a little tighter for effect together with unsharp mask! Other Categories / Animals / Apes / Architecture / Baby Animals / Bears / Birds / Big Cats / Elephants / Fish / Insects / Macro / Nature / Reptiles

  • European Red Fox Canon EOS 50D with Canon EF 400mm L f/5.6 lens

  • Female Snowy Owl. The females have these dark bars whereas the males are almost pure white!

  • This fella didn’t seem to mind the cold – this is the first time I saw him out and about – he was more evasive in the summer weather (I use the term “summer” loosely as I’m still waiting for summer 2008 to start!) ;o) American Mink at the British Wildlife Centre, December 2008. Canon EOS 5D Mk II with Canon EF 400mm L f/5.6 ISO1250 (ye gads!?)

  • I am sooooo pleased that I planted this Crab Apple tree nearly 20 years ago when we moved into our (then) brand new home. The tree has grown up to provide a wonderful haven for all our garden birds, large and small alike – winter and summer. Today it was full of fledgling birds – starlings, blackbirds, sparrows, (even a squirrel!) and cuties like this Great Tit (parus major) – all waiting, preening, dozing (hard life being a baby bird) and begging for food! Wish I could share it all with you but this one guy will have to serve as the ambassador for the cause! Difficult to get shots now the leaves are on the trees, but this one obliged! Canon EOS 50D with Canon EF 400mm f/5.6 L

  • This little guy or gal seemed to have become separated from siblings and parents, but I’m sure some swan soon claimed it. I would have happily taken it home… if my bunnies would have allowed it! ;o) Mute Swan cygnet (cygnus olor) at Abbotsbury Swannery, Dorset. Canon EOS 5D Mk II with Canon EF 400mm L f/5.6

  • Ladybird on a yellow cone flower. / Nikon D300, Nikkor 105 micro VR, 1/800, F/4.0, ISO 200, Hand held, natural light. Natalia’s Sweet Treat Lightroom preset – Spice it up used followed by an Intensity action in CS4.

  • Eurasian Eagle Owl Fledgling (bubo bubo) looking a little bit raggedy in his fluffy baby feathers! ;o) Canon EOS 50D with Canon EF 24-105mm L IS f/4

  • I found these two having a little (friendly) fight in an animal park here in Holland :)Thanks for viewing /
