As calm as this image looks, the waves crashing over the rocks were huge. I had to grab my gear and jump out of the way of the waves numerous times to capture this image. Captured 10-15 minutes before sunrise. Camera – Fuji GX617 / Film – Fuji Velvia 100 To see more of my work please visit www.gallerym-australia.com
as always please click on the image for a better view.. A windy evening looking up Tidal river towards the cloud capped Mt. Latrobe. With any chance of nice light gone because of the weather. I had a perception that the very strong winds could add to a moody image by creating leading lines on the river surface with a longer exposure. I hope you like the resultant photograph. / / / / Fuji G617 – no cropping,no stitching. Getting to know the stars is an important part of landscape photography. Using a compass and G.P.S I was able to pinpoint the South Celestial Star. Because of the rotation of the earth, using a six hour exposure gives the feeling of the stars trailing around this point. I used a 5 million candle power flashlight to illuminate the sand dune. Because of the massive size of the dune I had to climb an adjacent dune and paint the light on from there. This was a strange morning, I woke up a 3am to be on the sunshine coast for sunrise. Only to find the beach covered in sea foam. I thought oh well the images will be different. So in I went, within 5 minutes I was covered in foam so was my camera bag and tripod. The sunrise was great. Just as I was finished shooting a lady walking her dog looked me up and down and “said oh my god, you poor thing” Camera – Fuji GX617 / Film – Fuji Velvia 50asa To see more of my work please visit www.gallerym-australia.com

As always – click image for a better view / / A chilly morning on the Mt William range sees cloud and mist plummet off the ridgeline as the colder air sinks into the shadows of the range. I was retuning home after scouting for a possible new location for a panoramic photo when I came across these old jetty posts. I decided to place them centrally and create a strong sense of perspective to give depth to the photo. As an added bonus two pelicans landed opposite each other on the very last posts. While waiting patiently for light, it appeared that the sun was would disappear behind a hill before it would light up the scene. Fortunately the sun briefly lit the sides of the posts and I was able to capture the shot and then the light was gone.
Island Arch is located along the Great Ocean Road, Victoria Australia. While staying in the area I took the opportunity to take a photograph of this popular tourist attraction. I visited this location on the previous evening to check out a suitable composition and the best direction for lighting. To capture the image I arrived early in the morning and set up before the sunrise and waited for the light.
