  • This photo was handed down to me by my dad, he has a great interest in planes so I wanted to see if there were any photos I could play with. The polished aluminium body and clouds just begged HDR so this is what I came up with. Scanned the image and imported it into Lightroom then exported it as 3 different exposures and merged it in Photomatix. Put it back into Lightroom and touched it up a bit. I decided to leave the spots of dirt and stuff for an older ‘feel’.

  • the original is acrylic on canvas painted by myself. I also varnished the plane to create a reflection of light in its polished chrome surface. I have used photoshop to increse the contrast and intesity of the original.

  • THIS IS THE ORIGINAL COLOR PHOTO THAT I USED TO COME UP WITH THE BLACK & WHITE PHOTO, “WARMING UP”. THIS ORIGINAL WAS TAKEN WITH A CANON AE1, A CANON 100-200 F:5.6 TELEPHOTO LENS AND KODAK 100ASA COLOR FILM. I SCANNED THE 25 YEAR OLD 3X5 INTO MY COMPUTER AND DIGITALLY ENHANCED IT ENOUGH TO MAKE TWO DIFFERENT PHOTOS FROM IT.

  • It is amazing that these keys came into my possession but here they are. Can they open the gates to the highly secret military facility nicknamed “Area 51?” Perhaps they open the doors that reveal the secrets of the crashed alien craft recovered at Roswell, New Mexico in 1947. Only time will tell. But seriously, the piece is painted with Rublev 18th century reproduction watercolor paint on Arches 140# cold-pressed paper. The background is Daniel Smith’s Sedona Red from their Primatek series. The interaction of the paint and paper create interesting textural blends that add depth and interest to the piece. Canon EOS 400D / Digital Rebel XTi From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia: The North American Aviation P-51 Mustang was a long-range single-seat World War II fighter aircraft. Designed, built and airborne in just 117 days, the Mustang first flew in RAF service as a fighter-bomber and reconnaissance aircraft before conversion to a bomber escort, employed in raids over Germany, helping ensure Allied air superiority from early 1944. The P-51 was in service with Allied air forces in Europe and also saw limited service against the Japanese in the Pacific War. The Mustang began the Korean War as the United Nations’ main fighter, but was relegated to a ground attack role when superseded by jet fighters early in the conflict. Nevertheless, it remained in service with some air forces until the early 1980s.
