Again, another shot from Paso Robles – “Portrait of a Hot Rod Couple” – no that’s not Chris Isaak in the front seat…. however, I think he might have spent just as much time on his hair! The amount of beautifully painted machines around the couple is jaw dropping for me…. I’m defintely coming back here next year!

Lost
by Helen McLeanHere’s my famous red vinyl chair and red phone! These have been used in quite a few photo shoots now – although, this is the first photo where the two items get in the limelight. This laneway is located near Hosier Lane in Melbourne, adorned with graffiti and stencil art. Getting the phone to the laneway from the carpark at Fed Square was easy. Getting the chair there wasn’t!

This was shot in an amazing house, it was caught in a time capsule….the property was recently sold and the furniture sold off too, this shoot is all that remains. D.I.Y. is one of ‘those’ skill sets. Either you can indeed do it yourself or you best get someone else to do it! MissT has always struggled with the practical self help stuff, just looking at a car engine results in the breaking a fingernail and getting covered in oil. Her one foray into carpentry turned into an voyage of discovery as she searched for a right angle and found only wrong angles and blisters. But our girl is plucky and never one to give up. A belated description. / This is an ode to unhealthy relationships. Not the ones where you have an argument every once in a while, or maybe lots of little ones all over the place, but otherwise everything is peachy keen. This is to the other kind, even or uneven, where one or the other has to protect themselves, in all kinds of ways. Do they stay and learn how to take it, or protect themselves better? Or do they lose everything except their freedom and fly away? I have placed the ‘fight’ bride in a small area that is cramped and hard to breathe, holding her dress and hair up as a barrier. Whereas our ‘flight’ bride has lots of space to move, is making herself free of the confines of the dress, taking down the barrier.
