So I recently returned back to one of my favorite sites to photograph. This is the Whalehead Hunt Club in Currituck, North Carolina. Currituck Lighthouse is also visible on the left. This particular morning was just beautiful, very rare to have hardly any wind coming across Currituck Sound. The reflection turned out awesome, in my opinion. Image has been processed through Redynamix for the HDR look and also had the Orton effect applied. Best viewed in large. / Image made with tripod mounted Nikon D200, Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8, remote shutter release.

for a little romance…
I wonder where this path leads? During a motorcycle trip to Georgia, I passed by this scene and just had to turn around. The ground fog was just wicked, it was shrouding this path which I presume belongs to a rural farm. Taken with the Nikon D300 and Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 lens. HDR processing and Orton effect applied, as well as some dodge & burn.
Hey, it’s 0630, it’s cold, it’s very foggy out so what do you do? You pull up the doona and stay in bed go out and take pictures of course! 3-frame HDR, tone mapped in Photomatix and converted in CS4

This image was captured at Enniskillen Orchard which is a part of the Hawkesbury Harvest and the Sydney Farm Gate Trail. / The photo is straight from my camera, which is one of the reasons I am so happy with it, everything just seemed to work! / This is what I consider to be the first successful insect macro I have taken, I was really happy with the composition.. I hope you like it! / As always it is best viewed large.. / Taken at lifesize (1:1) with a reversed 50mm f1.8 nikon lens..

I got a 50mm lens, and gosh I love it!
Just thought I would introduce everyone to Finn, the newest member of our family. He’s an abyssinian that we got from a breeder in Kilsyth. After losing all our other pets in the bushfires it left a bit of a hole in our lives. This little fella is making things a lot easier :) Settings Canon 40D, 50mm prime 1/80th @ f1.4, ISO 200 As is…

Reversed 50mm macro shot of a blade of grass with dew drops on it. I tried to utilize the narrow DOF by maintaining focus on only a single droplet to emphasize its presence. Thanks for taking a look. Best Viewed LARGE

Captured this scene at the Military Aviation Museum in Virginia Beach, VA. The amount of aircraft on display in this museum is truly impressive. Later that day the owner took the P-51 Mustang for a flight which included a couple of low-level highspeed passes. The aircraft to the right in this image is a PBY Catalina. / Taken with the Nikon D300 and Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 lens. Light HDR processing applied.
Captured this beautiful fall scene while on a motorcycle ride to Georgia, Nov. 2008. Didn’t seem fair to be separated from the beauty on the other side by that fence, so I just included it as well. Taken with Nikon D300 and Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8. / Light HDR processing and some Dodge & Burn applied.
