Craig’s Hut on Mt Stirling in the Victorian High Country was built for the filming of The Man From Snowy River. / Lost only recently in the fires that swept the High Country an major effort is now underway to rebuild the hut. / The hut and it’s location with it’s magnificent views has become a major tourist attraction for both 4wd enthusiasts and the touring public. / This image of the hut was taken about 10 months before the fires swept through.

Very deep into the outback is Mt Dare Station,visitors are to can enjoy the very rugged Mt Dare pub on the property along with accomadation in th older homestead if required. / A great stopping point where you can also get fuel…don’t ask the price!....but the best outback hospitally and great conversations over at the old pub with owners are a treat.
The Victorian High Country has the most sprectaacular views to be enjoyed.This ridge drive along Blue Rag Track is on of the most spectacular in the Victorian High Country, but should only be driven by experinced 4wd drivers with lo range gears

By radio communication we arranged for the Toyota Landcrusers to come over the edge of this very step sand dune. The steepness can be gauged by seeing the sand fallng away from in front of the vehicles front wheels
Morning light skims across green ferns and massive tree trunks in the cool region of the Haunted Stream, Victirian High Country. Once this location,Dawson City, was a Township of 3,000 people who logged and worked this region.
The famous outback NSW town of Tibooburra has some wonderful old stone buidings. / A mining gold town 300km from Broken Hill it is the issence of an outback town. Named after the ancient granite tors that surround the village, the goldfields of the Tibooburra region was originally known as ” The Granites” and formed part of the Albert Goldfields

This is Rainbow Bay on the Sunshine Coast, you need a 4wd to get there, however the sight coming through the bush to this is so awesome…............Off to the coast to do a wedding this week-end thought this would get me in the beach mood…........xkc p.s. expected temp for winter tomorrow here is 30c…......that’s summer weather….......
