A taste of small town America : The county fair ,Here is a little ride at the fair called the hurricane . This is a 22 second exposure taken with the Nikon D-80 and the nikkor 18-135 mm lens
I originally sketched this out on 4th of July of 2006 in a park on a beautiful day with my late girlfriend. She asked me to put a small white scotty dog in one of the squares. I did and she loved that it was something she asked for and I drew it. She also asked if and when I get around to making a painting of that sketch if I would also paint in the little white dog. I did. This one is for you baby!
July 4th Fireworks at Lakewood Park, Lakewood, Ohio. 5 second exposure.
On July 4 of 2008 some friends and family were gathered around a bonfire in our yard, shooting fireworks and sharing stories. It was also my 39th birthday (groan). As everyone was engaged in watching which fireworks the kids would send up next, I was watching the sun set in the west. I started to think about the last year of my life and of so many birthdays before and how the day was ending so joyously… so celebratory. I walked away from the festivities for a few moments into a freshly mowed alfalfa field and watched as this burning pink and orange sun slowly slid to the horizon and I thought to myself that of all the “grand finale’s” at every fireworks show across the USA that night, that this “finale” was the grandest of them all.

Fifty States in alphabetical order as the American Flag
Took lots of pictures of the fireworks last night in Chambersburg’s Memorial Park. This is a composite of 5 different shots including the grand finale. I was playing around in Photo Shop to see what I could do.
Inspired by a fellow Redbubbler. I was up for the challenge. Wishing all you you fellow Americans a happy and safe 4th of July! Michele
Straight out of camera and onto here.

4th of July Fireworks as seen from a bridge roadway hundreds of feet off the ground, which made it seem the fireworks were being exploded, quite near. / I have many pictures of just the fireworks exploding, however I thought this one was interesting because of the traffic and all the people crowded as the fireworks show began.
Here’s another in a series of new fashion greeting card illustrations I’m working on. Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, with hand-drawn elements.
Fireworks (flying through the air) captured 5/31/08, at a Texas Rangers baseball game. f/8 / exposure: 2 sec / iso 80 / no tripod / no editing / Canon PowerShot G9
Captured from the hayloft of a barn in Indiana looking out through a vintage window pane to an American flag attached to the barns exterior. P3 capture
Today 4th November 2008 we commentate one of the saddest episodes of our history, men, women, and children were taken from their land, herded into makeshift forts with minimal facilities and food, then forced to march a thousand miles(Some made part of the trip by boat in equally horrible conditions). Under the generally indifferent army commanders, human losses for the first groups of Cherokee removed were extremely high. John Ross made an urgent appeal to Scott, requesting that the general let his people lead the tribe west. General Scott agreed. Ross organized the Cherokee into smaller groups and let them move separately through the wilderness so they could forage for food. Although the parties under Ross left in early fall and arrived in Oklahoma during the brutal winter of 1838-39, he significantly reduced the loss of life among his people. About 4000 Cherokee died as a result of the removal. The route they traversed and the journey itself became known as “The Trail of Tears” or, as a direct translation from Cherokee, “The Trail Where They Cried” (“Nunna daul Tsuny”). These all are prophecies / Of what shall be, / When Freedom’s sons shall / Leave their brothers free. Words by Albery Allson Whitman The Beginning Of The Trail – By TKroseverar – And – Coppertrees I would like to add a special thank you to Tammy – For Naming Each Of The 13 paintings I have uploaded to commemorate this day.
