  • ...There is a park not far from where I live. I was walking through it one day and I noticed a little door like shape in the truck of a tree, so the next day I went back and embellished…just a little :)

  • Couldn’t resist adding a little fairy (my daughter) and some garden creatures to Melody’s home of Edmund Elf without distracting too much from the beautiful setting she created!

  • On the 12th June, Briain’s Shadow Home Secretary blasted the government and its controversial ‘42 Days’ law – the right to detain without charge people suspected of terrorism, a law which was by many accounts “bullied” through parliament by the British Prime Minister Gordon Brown. Now I have no better solution for what to do in these uncertain times, but I utterly applaud Davis’ convictions in resigning from his position, and forcing a by-election in his electorate. The words of his speech are inspirational, and not wholly transferred onto this shirt. Highlights: This Sunday is the anniversary of Magna Carta, a document that guarantees the fundamental element of British freedom, habeas corpus. The right not to be imprisoned by the state without charge or reason. But yesterday this house allowed the state to lock up potentially innocent citizens for up to six weeks without charge. Because the generic security arguments relied on will never go away – technology, developing complexity and so on – we will next see 56 days, now it’s 70 days, 90 days. 42 days is just one, perhaps the most salient example, of the insidious, surreptitious and relentless erosion of fundamental British freedoms. We will have, shortly, the most intrusive identity card system in the world, a CCTV camera for every 14 citizens, a DNA database bigger than any dictator should have with thousands of innocent children and millions of innocent citizens on it. consider one of the most fundamental issues of our day: the ever intrusive power of the state into our lives, the loss of privacy, the loss of freedom and the steady attrition undermining the rule of law.

  • The meaning of mandala comes from the Sanskrit word for both “CIRCLE” and “CENTRE” Even though it may be dominated by other geometric shapes like squares or triangles, a mandala will always remain a concentric (CIRCLE) structure. Mandalas offer balancing visual elements, symbolizing unity and harmony. The meanings of individual mandalas is usually different and unique to each mandala. For some, the goal of the mandala is to serve as a tool on one’s spiritual journey as it symbolizes cosmic and psychic order. For others, the mandala is used as a counter-balancing mechanism of one’s own psyche, (The spirit or soul) and a way for us to focus or meditate our way into becoming a whole person. The meaning of Yin-Yang: Yin-Yang represents the ancient Chinese understanding of how things work. The outer circle represents “everything”, while the black and white shapes within the circle represent the interaction of two energies, called “yin” (black) and “yang” (white), which cause everything to happen. They are not completely black or white, just as things in life are not completely black or white, and they cannot exist without each other.

  • Somewhere beneath the sun, / These quivering heart – strings prove it, / Somewhere there must be one / Made for this Soul, to move it….. Words by William Cory 1823 -1823 This Ephemeral painting brings you healing in every area of your life Spiritual, mental, emotional and physical. Now is the time to pay attention to the events in your life and acknowledge with gratitude the healing that is manifesting itself. A new sense of well being is on the horizon and you have alot of positive energy around you. It is time to realise that erratic modes of behaviour are not conducive to creative work. You are not a yo-yo. The metaphor I have used here is for you to be able to read beyond the literal meaning of a phrase, and to be able to connect to its true meaning. You must accept certain factors and use this time to gain insights that will help in the future. New and interesting experiences will reveal themselves to you shortly. You have been placed on our healing list and we shall think of you daily! If you wish me to send this Ephemeral Painting to you by email please let me know. June 7th 2009
