A three shot HDR on a stormy day of the Lighthouse on the beachfront at Kingston, Limestone Coast, South Australia. Canon 400D CIR Polarising filter – HDR converted in Photomatix.
Poppy head sticking out from the petals as the plant begins to die back. Again late afternoon light creating shadows and darkness in the back on the garden. Flower approx. 9cm across. Canon 400D Sigma 100-300 macro.
HDR image of a makeshift workshop located with the old Cellulose Factory, (old paper mill), Millicent South Australia. Great lighting and huge open factory with roof height windows capturing that late afternoon sun. Canon 400D 18-55 lens Three shot HDR adapted in Photomatix. The old datsun in for more repairs than its probably worth.
Image of a home town local lad Josh Burdon, jumping his motor cycle across the traffic lights in the main street. Unfortunately Josh has since crashed badly as is off the bike for some time while bones knit. Wishing him a speedy recovery. A series of shots from a tripod merged together in Photoshop CS3. Canon 400D 18-55 lens.
Tricky shot , it was blowing a gale as i perched on the side of a mountain, it’s a view across the Llanberis pass, in Snowdonia…..this is my first attempt, theres a few improvements I can make so i need to go back and rework it. canon 400d, 18mm, 1/100sec.
Yes, the ladybirds often seen on my site have made a recovery and were in their thousands last night in the forests at Mount Burr in South Australia. This group kept emerging from the darkness towards my flash as I tried to get some night time shots of them huddling together on a power pole. The bolt joining the frame and cement together made a point of focus for the shot and a small platform for them to climb on Canon 400D 18 -55 with a speedlight. Processed in Photoshop CS3.
Back watching the ladybirds from Mt Burr again today. As the sun finally came out after days of crisp cold and rain they began to move about, climb and eventually take off for places unknown. Watching them today I couldn’t help but think of how many lessons they could teach. This one showed me that when you get to the edge – sometimes you just have to take a leap of faith and fly away to unknown adventures…..... What amazing creatures they are! Canon 400D 18-55 with two stage extension tubes. Processed in photoshop CS3.
The final in this series.. Back watching the ladybirds from Mt Burr again today. As the sun finally came out after days of crisp cold and rain they began to move about, climb and eventually take off for places unknown. Watching them today I couldn’t help but think of how many lessons they could teach. This one showed me that often you just have to keep on flapping and eventually it will happen…takeoff… There are many defining moments in our lives. Let them define you or flap hard and define them yourself….. What amazing creatures they are! Canon 400D 18-55 with two stage extension tubes. Processed in photoshop CS3.
Is family really the most important thing we have? / Isn’t the very feeling and safety to know there’s “someone there”? / What really defines a family, more than sharing dna? Many questions can be asked / answerd here but atleast one thing is for sure, everybody gets a better well beeing from feeling loved. Care for your close ones and bring the ones far away from you closer. Canon EOS 400D / Sigma 17-70 / F2.8-4.5 / ISO 100 / f/5,6 / 1/320 s / 70mm CS4 for vignetting & levels More works can be found over at DeviantART / and / rdblanche.com
Two magnificent lions at the Mebourne Zoo this morning posing together for just a few minutes. They were looking intently at those of us lucky enought to be watching at that very moment. Canon 400D Sigma 120-400. Coverted to B&W in Photoshop CS3.
Taking a very careful late night stroll into some of Melbournes back lanes whilst visiting this week, I came across this amazing place off Flinders Street where everything was covered in paint, including the bins!!!! Had to watch out for the rats that kept crossing the lane into the bins…..... I guess this always depends on your point of view, is it art – is it graffitti? Shot with the Canon 400D – 17-85 lens on a tripod. Will try and work on some HDRs also taken that night and post them soon.
Whilst in Melbourne this week I took a night stroll down towards the MCG from Federation Square off Flinders Street and photographed the Ferris Wheel that is often seen on RedBubble. A long exposure shot of the slowly turning wheel that is covered with ever changing lights revealed the patterns seen in this series of images. This shot incorporated the artistic structure that sits above the ferris wheel on a slight mound. Canon 400D – 17-85 lens.
Early evening long exposure image taken from an overpass on the Freeway leaving the Adelaide CBD traveling up to and through the Heysen tunnels. Made the trip with Smarti77 followed by a stroll along North terrace and through the city. Canon 400D Sigma 10-20 wide angle lens.
