This picture is my 400th submission to this Redbubble gallery. I have chosen for an older shot, taken at my first visit to the park of the country-house Groeneveld, two days after I had bought my Nikon D80. / For me it expresses my sincere hope to be able to go out on such dreamlike mornings many times in future too and then share my pictures with you. Often enough I shall only be able to offer you the scenes you know by now, but hopefully you will enjoy them in a new variation. Groeneveld, 12th April 2007, 7.28 am / Nikon D80, Nikkor 18-200 mm at 50 mm / F 10, 1/250, ISO 180 Indeed there is another shot taken at this scene already on this gallery, submitted long ago. I find, however, that the setting of this one is different enough to show it to you after all. And you can decide now which you like better. Here the other shot:

Black glass magic – I had gone on this shoot with a bad attitude, expecting the sky to be bland and the day to be a waste of time, and therefore I set the camera on large jpg so I wouldn’t waste too much computer space….As it turned out, I’ve managed to drag out some amazing results. This is another straight from the camera image, although I had to take it into PS to straighten the horizon…. Canon 5D Mk II, 16-35mm at 16mm, f/10, 90seconds, ISO 50, Hoya NDX400, Singh Ray 3 stop reverse grad, Lee 0.9 ND grad, tripod, cable release, lots of guessing….I should point out the red sky is enhanced by the Singh Ray filter, which seems to put a colour cast across the ND area when used in conjunction with the Lee filter…. - / SEASCAPES / NEW ZEALAND / PEOPLE

after watching the sun come up from one headland mostly I meander along the beach to the next rocky headland….. the sun is just above the horizon now so no more blood red sky or mysterious reflected/refracted double suns in the water… just the warm golden sandy beach to stroll along….. / . /
