Surrealism. In the course of every day life one is always confronted with having to make a choice about something. For every choice one makes, one must be prepared to pay the consequence. Adam and Eve had a choice. You can always think what the consequence may be in the land of Bryce. / © Dave Moilanen 2007

Life is just like dandelions. When the wind comes, they leave, but they won’t disappear. They are just going to a new place to start a new life…

In the Native American Sioux language Hanyewi means Moon Translated by Chief Yellow Lark – 1887 Oh, Great Spirit, whose voice I hear in the winds / Whose breath gives life to the world, hear me / I come to you as one of your many children / I am small and weak / I need your strength and wisdom May I walk in beauty / Make my eyes ever behold the red and purple sunset. / Make my hands respect the things you have made / And my ears sharp to your voice. / Make me wise so that I may know the things you have taught your children. The lessons you have written in every leaf and rock / Make me strong! / Not to be superior to my brothers, but to fight my greatest enemy….myself Make me ever ready to come to you with straight eyes, / So that when life fades as the fading sunset, / May my spirit come to you without shame. In the first quarter of the 21st Century multiple countries are planning to establish permanent lunar colonies. The reasons are many but one of the main reasons are for the resources of the Moon which can be made into components for the human exploration of Mars. / / There are some elements that are in abundance in the lunar environment that will help with the biosphere of Earth. Many scientists are working on processes that will alleviate some of the energy issues that have gotten worse over time. Though the orb called Earth is our home, we as a society are slowly degrading the quality of our home world. / / As we move out into the Universe by first placing permanent colonies upon the lunar surface then outward into our solar system, hopefully, we will take the lessons learned by mismanagement of our home planet’s environment to heart as we move out into the stars. To live within our environment and future environments will allow us to expand outward to new discoveries and worlds which will allow for our species to grow as well as prosper. At the same time the cautionary note should be at what cost to the environments in which we plan to place our imprint. / / Will the lunar surface be scarred with “robotic” strip mining? / Will we unleash environmental disasters by ignoring the history of our own societies mistakes? / Will we honor what we have learned to be more eco-friendly as we begin to explore the vastness of space? / / Only time will tell if we are a society which learns from our mistakes or a society that consumes at all costs even to our own detriment. / / Some groups that you may want to visit and join: / AW Welcome Center / EF Welcome Center / Globes, Spheres and Curves / DaDa Land / Boolean Art / Fantasy Art / Human and Nature / Light and Reflections / Disclaimer

Just playing around with moon pix. AlienVistor wrote this poem (how cool!!) / ... At the edge of fright / I wait within / The moons fair glow / On ancient rock / Above bottomless pool / I listen for the cry / That never comes / And the fog rolls in / And darkness falls.

This is a collaboration I did with Geoff Coleman.. http://www.redbubble.com/people/geoffcoleman thanks geoff…loved this photo!! this piece was probably the one that took me the longest to create ever… the lighting was difficult to blend in with geoff’s photo and each test render took over an hour … there were over 30 test renders, in addition to the 20 odd hours i spent on lighting and surfaces … i was pretty determined to make it work.

“The sun was like a great visiting presence that stimulated and took its due from all animal energy. When it flung wide its cloak and stepped down over the edge of the fields at evening, it left behind it a spent and exhausted world.” / / Willa Cather (1873-1947) / / / / / Some groups that you may want to visit and join: / AW Welcome Center / EF Welcome Center / Globes, Spheres and Curves / DaDa Land / Boolean Art / Human and Nature / Fantasy Art / Disclaimer

Old Barn / by / Vance Oliphant / Just down the road… around the bend, / Stands an old empty barn; nearing the end. / It has sheltered no animals for many years; / No dairy cows, no horses, no sheep, no steers. / The neigh of a horse; the low of a cow; / Those sounds have been absent for some time now. / There was a time when the loft was full of hay, / And the resounding echoes of children at play. / At one time the paint was a bold shade of red; / Gradually faded by weather and the sun overhead. / The doors swing in the wind… the hinges are loose, / Windows and siding have taken a lot of abuse. / The fork, rope and pulleys lifted hay to the mow, / A task that always brought sweat to the brow. / But those good days are gone; forever it seems, / And that old barn now stands with sagging beams. / It is now home to pigeons, rats and mice; / The interior is tattered and doesn’t look very nice. / Old, abandoned barns have become a trend, / Just down the road… around the bend.
