“Where it came from and who it was made by were as mysterious as it’s purpose. It looked innocuous enough, although it’s surroundings might have seemed somewhat sinister; what the unfamiliar eye failed to realise, of course, is that the Orb was what had created this landscape, sucking the life out of all around it long ago. One thing, though, was clear: it did not belong here.” ...something a bit different from me. This is an older Bryce image and the “story” was something I wrote when I first uploaded it a few years ago. I don’t have Bryce at the moment but when I get it back up and running I might be able to re-render this at a larger res.

This art work was inspired by a wonderful friend and wonderful artist, Kym Breeze. Kym once asked if you could describe your life as a song what would it be. Dragon art. The old saying is true. Never judge a book by it’s cover. How many times during the course of life have you prejudged someone by their appearance without getting to know what makes them tick? Is it because they aren’t pleasing to your eyes or that they are different that they aren’t worth your time? / Here our friendly dragon is cooling off from the heat of the evening. Have you ever felt as if you are alone in a crowded room, or that the world is burning around you and no one notices the smoke? We as a people are in many ways treating the planet just like that, ignoring the pleas and screams for help, content in our tiny personal universes oblivious of the damage manifesting in front of our eyes. I wonder if it will take us being isolated into the final last mountain top remaining able to sustain life prior to our awakening to the critical nature of our precarious existence. We are on the crossroads able to choose two paths ahead, one leads humanity into darkness into which we may never recover and the alternative leads into a world of phenomenal wonders and breathtaking beauty which fills our spirit with joy.
