  • Spectacular sunset from our property. So many occur down here… only wish I take more whenever they are this spectacular.

  • Over a hundred years ago, Blyth had a lot of windmills. I did this stylised one from a black and white photo of a 19th century pencil drawing. I like working like that – it gives my imagination plenty to play with.

  • Shot during a break (for the dancer), a quiet moment of reflection.

  • I love the way it looks as if the light is shining out of the pages of the book… /

  • The lone figure on top of a sand dune!

  • Well, I was gonna just replace this image with the 1st version, but wasn’t sure which I liked better , so for now …I’ll leave em both Detail /

  • The same image as earlier but with lots more snow painted in and I’ve painted in Father Christmas’s arm outstretched, and footsteps through the snow. I’ve added a light effect and played around with the brightness, contrast and midtones. / Beware….....This could become an obsession.

  • This is a reduction lino cut done with two blocks. One lays down the black and the other the orange. The white part is cut out completely so that it remains white. It takes a while to get your head around the process and it can be a hit or miss process in the printing stage. 257 Views on 2/12/09 In this edition I did 20 and this is the only one I approve of. People don’t often see the work that goes into printmaking and some treat it like a craft…but I find it the most difficult of all art mediums, not only do you have to come up with the concept and composition but you have to get your head into how you are going to do it; The processes are long but the rewards are beautiful.

  • Acrylic on cardboard, 1994. My 2nd painting, did this in an art class.

  • demo operator geting ready for lunch

  • Today Nov 20, is Harley’s second anniversary with us. Two years ago this wonderful guy came into our lives, forever. He was passed from one shelter to another, and had a home for a short while. When we got him, we told him right away that he is stuck with us, and I think that is fine with Harley. / He is a golden retriever/australian shepard mix, with maybe a little chow. It seemed along the way, everybody loved him, but no one thought that their home was where he was traveling to. He started out in PA, then OH and was lastly in IN when we got him. I think every one would agree Harley is finally at home, where he belongs, where he was traveling to all these years. He was six years old when we adopted him. These last two years have been wonderful with him and Julie both. Could not even think of these two not being with us. The both of them, have their paw prints on our hearts forever.

  • I have spent many a happy hour in this building. Here below is the first version of this drawing that I did in 1989. I later showed it to a professional artist, who commented that it was a good drawing, but possibly spoiled by my inclusion of the bus shelter and the lamp posts, which were obscuring the view somewhat. I patiently sat down and, over about ten or twelve hours (in two hour sessions) I repeated the drawing … minus the obscuring parts. That was when i learned the valuable lesson that artists don’t have to include EVERYTHING :) I used Rotring Isograph pens by the way.

  • This photo is just as is. No photo shop or selective color. The fire truck in the background is in the children’s park. This is the day after the big storm of 2006 which took down about 1 in every 5 trees throughout Stanley Park. I just found this so peaceful and it reminded me of one of the most famous scenes from “Schindler’s List”. As the Krakow ghetto is being evacuated, Oskar Schindler watches from above. A little girl with a red dress - one of the few times colour is used in the film - walks down the street while hundreds are being massacred around her

  • an older illustration re-worked for a recent project…

  • Von touched up my barn photo differently than I saw it. His sepia tones are much more interesting don’t you think? And he didn’t crop it even though I did. Do you like it this way?

  • The glass buildings of Los Angeles Financial district in downtown in early morning. Building in the middle is “Deloitte Touche” the brand under which 165,000 dedicated professionals in independent firms throughout the world collaborate to provide audit, consulting, financial advisory, risk management, and tax services to selected clients. • The naked earth is warm with Spring, / And with green grass and bursting trees / Leans to the sun’s gaze glorying, / And quivers in the sunny breeze; And life is colour and warmth and light, / And a striving evermore for these; / And he is dead who will not fight; / And who dies fighting has increase. The fighting man shall from the sun / Take warmth, and life from the glowing earth; / Speed with the light-foot winds to run, / And with the trees to newer birth; / And find, when fighting shall be done, / Great rest, and fullness after dearth.
