Hello all! So RedBubble is about sharing creativity. Getting your art ‘out there’. And we’re not limited to the RedBubble website….

Hello all! So RedBubble is about sharing creativity. Getting your art ‘out there’. And we’re not limited to the RedBubble website. We want to actively support initiatives that bring your art into the physical world. To this end we have this awesome logistic engine that we can use to support you. For example, if you want to put on a gallery exhibition RedBubble can look at sponsoring your exhibition through the manufacture and delivery of the art for the exhibition. And we’ve already started doing this. The first RedBubble sponsored exhibition is by a group of Melbourne photographers called the Silverminers. Their exhibition is called ‘Unsensored 07’ and here’s a bit of information from the Silverminers: “Unsensored07 is an exciting upcoming independent exhibition organised and run by a small group of photographic artists who practice and value work with film in this day of digital conveniences. The exhibition will feature 12 artists, all with a very distinct style and will take place between 26th October and 10th November at Kerala Gallery in Melbourne, Australia. What makes this show quite distinct is the fact that all works are on film / - considered a dying (if not dead) art form that carries a lot more spirit and tradition and has certain genuinity to it. More importantly, is what this means on a social / environmental / cultural parallel that is really important. Shooting film in an age where digital photography is readily available and is a lot faster, simpler, and more convenient represents the vinyl in the mp3 world, the live gig in the lap-top album culture, the bike ride to work amongst other things and strongly comments on the ‘more of everything / less substance in anything’ contemporary reality, uniformity and loss of personal touch, consumer based everything and loss of true genuinity.” You can find more information at the Silverminers profile or on their website. - Peter P.S. – 3324 different works of art were sold on RedBubble in September! P.P.S. – Sponsoring exhibitions isn’t the only thing we’re looking at to help you get your art ‘out there’. There’s a store in Singapore that wants to stock RedBubble t-shirts, there a few folks around the world who want to re-sell RedBubble cards and there’s many more things we’re looking at. And we’ve got an open mind about new ideas! P.P.P.S. – If you’ve got an idea for getting your art out there and you’d like RedBubble’s support, send Peter a BubbleMail.

  • Cover-Artwork for the german Goth-Metal Group AETERNITAS / Title: La Danse Macabre / Serpina Records 2004 / The sing in german and latin Dance of Death, also variously called Danse Macabre (French), Danza Macabra (Italian and Spanish) or Totentanz (German), is a late-medieval allegory on the universality of death: no matter one’s station in life, the dance of death unites all. La Danse Macabre consists of the personified death leading a row of dancing figures from all walks of life to the grave—typically with an emperor, king, pope, monk, youngster, beautiful girl, all skeletal. They were produced to remind people of how fragile their lives were and how vain the glories of earthly life were. Its origins are postulated from illustrated sermon texts; the earliest artistic examples are in a cemetery in Paris from 1424. Worktime: 15 hours Playing on work: Aeternitas – La Danse Macabre

  • Hotel Taj, Hotel Trident and Nariman house – more or less familiar names across the world, until terror hit Mumbai on 26.11 They don’t care language, nation or what your identity is. Unfortunately, it has spread over the world in recent times but it’s origin has never been thought to be destroyed totally, yet. Sooner or later the world will have to think of it. It claimed 151 lives till 1830 Hrs. on 28.11.2008 in Mumbai and Hotel Trident was CLEARED, fighting for Hotel Taj and Nariman House, the Jewish residential was still on. It’s not just Mumbai or India today, it might hit any civilized world tomorrow. I am presenting a photograph taken today to pay a tribute to all who lost their life with a message, although the PEACE is the most valuable asset to all of human beings, until the roots of terror are not destroyed WAR AGAINST TERROR will never end. We are on the same board named planet Earth and we cannot live with terror for a long time. Please join hands against the fight to make a safe and peaceful world, for our coming generations. One day we’ll have to answer them. All the proceedings from the sale will go to the victims of 26.11 Equiment : Canon EOS 400D

  • This was inspired by James Stephens’ book, The Crock of Gold. I did this thirteen years ago and never thought about it again until this week, when I decided to upload a few old collages. For those interested, I used collage for the crock of gold and the leprechaun and for the background I splashed watercolour paint onto the page and then drew around the splashes with ink. • My version of of the ‘frog prince’ story, called a bath of stars. This is page 26 of 50 pages. This is my first short story and comic book.
