  • Long exposure shot with my Contax G2 at a station in Birmingham UK. I hope to expand this image into a series maybe a similar shot on ever station on this line. • acrylic on canvas 150×80cm / / Unofficial Earth Day flag, by John McConnell: the Blue Marble on a blue background. Earth Day is one of two different observances, both held annually during spring in the northern hemisphere, and autumn in the southern hemisphere. These are intended to inspire awareness of and appreciation for the Earth’s environment. The United Nations celebrates an Earth Day each year on the March equinox, a tradition which was founded by peace activist John McConnell in 1969. A second Earth Day, which was founded by U.S. politician Gaylord Nelson as an environmental teach-in in the late 1960s, is celebrated in many countries each year on April 22.

  • BEST VIEWED LARGER This shot taken from MIlsons Point directly under the Sydney Harbour Bridge, the lights and skyline of the city on the opposite shore. Taken around midnight the waters of Sydney are lit with colours of the rainbow. For visitors to Sydney , you can walk across to Milsons point, or catch train trip to Milson’s Point station. This shot was taken with no filters with a Nikon D300 and Nikon 18-200mm lens securely mounted on a Manfrotto Tripod, using three bracketed exposures which were then processed using Photomatix HDR Software. My continuing journey into HDR

  • Every Easter holidays my family go camping at the BIG4 caravan park in Pambula. This is handy as I’ve found it’s quite a photogenic location. I took this shot when it was overcast and a rather boring scene but, I wanted to see what I could do with it. Shot: Canon 400D + Canon 10-22 f/3.5 – f/4.5 @ 1/2, 1/8 (-2), 2 (+2), f/8, ISO100. Post-Processing: I blended and tonemapped the image in Photomatix and then took it into Adobe Photoshop CS3 and did quite a lot of dodging and burning and curves and levels layer masks.

  • Every Easter holidays my family go camping at the BIG4 caravan park in Pambula. This is handy as I’ve found it’s quite a photogenic location. On the beach there are these huge rock formations that you see here in the photo. Shot: Canon 400D + Canon 10-22 f/3.5 – f/4.5 @ 1/4, 1 (+2), f/16, ISO100 Post-Processing: I manually blended the 2 shots in Adobe Photoshop and used several curves and levels layers for several parts of the photo and then increased the contrast with a curves layer.

  • 09:37 Sunday morning. The static display of the F-22 Raptor is just screaming to be photographed. Decided to break a few rules here and only took a shot of the F-22’s office. What an incredible plane! The flight demo later on was just stunning as usual. Taken at the 2009 Airpower Over Hampton Roads Airshow at Langley Air Force Base, VA. I just love the lighting in this shot.

  • This is my first shot using my new camera, I had drove 130 mile to this spot, eager to play with my camera, only to be greeted by an overcast flat sky and rain showers, i was just about to call it a day when the sun broke through the clouds, it lasted for a brief 2 mins. Canon 50D, nd x7, two nd grad filters, f-11, iso 100, 13mm, long exp noise red on, canon 10-22mm. ps. i like my new toy

  • Another one of my fractal designs posted for show and sale. These look way better on cards. lol!! Cool!

  • 3 shot pano, canon 50D, canon 10-22 Lake district

  • Canon 50d, iso 800, no flsah, 10-22, handheld. What a fantastico little find this was. i tried flash but he gave me an angry Venetian stare, so i had to bump the iso upto 800, and have a very small f number. I spent ages zooming in and exploring all the little details in this scene, all with there own litlle story. Im going to rework this when i get back home
