This little guy was wondering around in the streets near his home in a township called Orange Farm, just outside Johannesburg. I snapped this shot when my son’s school Interact committee build a house for the underprivileged community there. I just loved the way he was wondering around, oblivious to the fact that his shoe had come off and was lying in the dusty streets somewhere!!!!! A pure watercolour painted on Waterford 300gsm paper using W/N watercolour paints. 20×25”

Hello! We’ve recently released two updates to RedBubble – 2010 calendars and a ‘new members’ view in art | t-shirts | writing. All 2009 calendars have been automagically updated to 2010 calendars and the only other change has been to include the title of the calendar on the cover (previously it displayed the artist name). Here’s a calendar that caught my eye this morning (Dandelion Calender by Eric Abernethy): To give an extra attention to the newest members of RedBubble we’re released a new filter under the art | t-shirts | writing tabs called ‘new members’ (see screen shot below). This filter shows the work of brand new members (i.e. people who’ve joined in the last month). It’s easy for new folks to be a little overwhelmed by the size of RedBubble – so we’re looking to do a few things like this to help them get started. ‘ Please check out these new views (here for new artists here for new writers and here for new t-shirt designers) and make these newest members of RedBubble feel welcome. This is my first offering…the little gateway that marks the start of the ascent to the imposing Tryfan Mountain in the distance.
