My hometown isn’t the most picturesque of places, but it does have a lighthouse that was built in the 18th century. The river was made deeper and narrower over the years and so the lighthouse is now inland. I have painted and drawn it before (as has L.S. Lowry) but decided to liven it up a little in this whimsically bent coloured pencil depiction of it. TOBY AND TABATHA IN THE TINY CITY Toby and Tabatha were taking an early morning walk one summer’s day, when they chanced upon a tiny city, built on the outskirts of their town. While Tabatha peered over one of the castellated walls of the city, Toby leaped over it and sat happily on a cobbled street to gather his thoughts for while. The two cats felt they had been transported into another era. The few people they saw on the street were tiny and dressed in Victorian costume. A soldier courageously stood guard close to where Toby sat. Slightly past the soldier, a well-dressed lady had stopped for a moment, apparently lost in thought. Neither of the characters appeared to be in the least perturbed by Toby and Tabatha, which puzzled the two friends. Of course, what you may have guessed, but they have yet to work out, is that our two feline friends had wandered into the town’s brand new model village; not yet open to the public. Won’t Toby and Tabatha get a surprise when Mr. Grimshaw the Park Attendant arrives at nine o’clock to start his day’s work? They will actually get a big shock when they discover that Mr. Grimshaw, a grumpy man at the best of times, has an intense dislike of cats, however cute and fluffy they may be …. Taken in a Winter’s storm, last light at Grange Jetty, South Australia. The wind was wild. I managed to steady the camera with a tripod behind one of the pylons and with the shutter speed slowed down, caught the magic of the waves moving in the foreground. The sun shining through the jetty as I pressed the shutter, gives this image a sureal feel. / /

The Annual Sculpture by the Sea has turned into bloody Pitt St….. Even at sunrise I was there on Sunday morning and there was about 30 photographers scrambling around. I decided to shoot at night when everyone else had gone home. This image is a long exposure image that was light painted using my handy dandy light wand. I have one other sculpture that I want to go back and light paint as well….. when there are no other people around. BP

pencil embellished limited-edition print of my pencil drawing Heliotroped As of Dec. 29, 2009, this has been viewed 868 times. THANK YOU. This was also done for a benefit exhibition where it took Best of Show. I cut out a portion of a print of my drawing “Heliotroped” and wrapped it around the 12×12” block of plywood. Then I embellished heavily with more pencil work. Very fun.
