  • He just looks so proud and so content that it would be hard NOT to take his picture. He was a very talkative cat and usually was very curious of the things going on around him. / All proceeds from the sale of this photograph will be donated to Noah’s Lost Ark Sanctuary for the care and feeding of the various critters that reside there. Photograph by Nina Wolf, whose permission I have to do this.

  • The lovely Tracie… a real knockout, don’t you think? I think that she is a South China tiger that had a botched declaw done. Her claws are growing out of what would be your wrist! / If it weren’t for places like Noah’s Lost Ark, all the animals would have to be put down because there would be nowhere for them to live. At least with education, we might make a little difference.. even if we save just one animal.. it’s a beginning!! / All proceeds from any sales will be donated to Noah’s Lost Ark Sanctuary for the care and feeding of the animals. This photograph was taken by Nina Wolf, and her permission was granted.

  • Hayden Dewar was commissioned to paint a series of murals representing the history of melbourne The store was built in 1853 and named Dimelow and Gaylard before the colloquial name was adopted in 1904. That building was destroyed by fire in 1907 and the existing structure was designed by Melbourne architects H. W. & F. B. Tompkins. The clock tower was erected in 1910 and the building’s name changed again to Dimmeys Model Stores to reflect its high fashion status in working-class Richmond. In 2004, artist Hayden Dewar was commissioned to paint a series of murals representing the history of the store and Victoria along the Green Street facade.

  • Illustration board, gesso and acrylic. A tweak here and there on picnik. BEST IF VIEWED LARGE! This was my first attempt at using gesso and I loved creating texture. I painted this in December of 2004 immediately after the Tsunami. The water colored hues were not intentional and just kind of happened. When I finished I couldn’t believe what I saw. A representation of the Tsunami. This was also the same year my dad died, April 18th, 2004 so originally I called this painting A Traumatic Decade. It was one more painting that showed the beginnings of working through my dad’s death. This is actually a crop of the original painting because in the bottom right hand corner, two rectangular shapes also appeared. They were vertical and looked like the Twin Towers and were painted in red, again unknowingly at the time. I think the red represented the lives that were lost on September 11, 2001. I did not keep them in this version because the right side of the painting was so dark they kind of got lost. The cropping of the painting caused me to change the title to just Tsunami 2004 because that was the focal point of the painting. And to me it shows the power of the unconscious mind in art. I was working through traumas happening over all over the world, and trying to make sense of tragedy. A long story but one that I think is important as you view the work for yourself. Perhaps not even one of my best, but powerful in mind and the healing impact of art in my life!
