The Twin Towers WTC in New York City photographed in September 2000. Nothing more needs to be said except that they were iconic and nobody will ever forget the outrage of the following year. I do not support the war on terror as it is happening but this is not the site for political debate. I loved their symmetery and the incredible sense of mans achievement when one simply looked up. Connecting the parishes of Grinton and Reeth in Swaledale since 1920, the swingbridge over the Swale was destroyed by an uprooted tree during a flood on 19 September 2000. The bridge was rebuilt in 2002.

2nd Image… One of my Best Friends is Pregnant and so I was Shocked about that sort of news… Just isn’t something you expect a Friend to say to you out of the blue… I have always respected Women and the Gift they possess for Creation of Life… So its been on my Mind for the last few days and due to lack of inspiration the past week or so for new art work I decided to Alter a few of my older Works that would work well with Creation of Life and a Womans Form, Body…. and to try and celebrate that in my own way… I know the idea behind the images are not new and a Popular example of something like My images is that of “2001: A Space Odyssey” but that Image has always been in my mind ever since I first saw the Movie god knows how long ago… so is about time and I think is the right time since my Friends news that I make a few of my own… Will try and think about a new image from scratch with this idea in mind… This is the 2nd Image I have made on this idea…

Given that President OBAMA is stepping into power on January 20th--I thought a re-release was in order—this issue WILL NOT GO AWAY! / Below are my original words: 7 years ago, this morning, on September, 11, 2001--I sat there, with all of you, as we collectively went through the deepest levels, of National and Personal: / Mourning-Rage-Screaming-Crying-Shock-Vengence-Hate-Loss-Amazement-Partriotism…we all dealt with it then-and deal with it now—in our own ways. That day and the subsequent years of “fallout” have taken a toll on our Great Nation; for Good, for Bad, and for Ugly. MAY WE NEVER FORGET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!—-alllllllll of it. I have created many works of art about September 11th, but this one seems to be the Best one to share with you today; on this anniversary day. May we never forget the thousands who were lost then--and the thousands who are BEING LOST today. And--may our leaders find any way it takes—to stop this running tally. I truly pray, that this image of mine, will help HEAL our National, Wounded Hearts, and in any small way, help to bring comfort to us all. And, when I hear folks talking trash about America, I always know this—-they have never seen what I have seen. I always wish I could instantly translate them to perhaps, one of the thousands of flithy tin, or cardboard shelters of Haiti, where many families have to sleep on the ground, in shifts, and fight for anything they might be able to scratch up to eat. And, see the children gathered around the garbage heaps, to find food next to the pigs. Or, mothers washing their babies in stagnant poors, of contaminated runoff waters. If you don’t like it here-———then PLEASE LEAVE! I REFUSE TO FORGET 911. GOD BLESS MY BEAUTIFUL COUNTRY! I AM STILL PROUD TO BE CALLED AN AMERICAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2001 Abstract Acrylic Mixed Media on 140 lb. Watercolour paper 17×22” It took the eleventh hour of doom for us to wake -up and realize that a whole lot of people in this world love what we have and holds disdain for us…. Itn’t it funny that the world almost all…...puts down America, but if they had the chance to come and live here they are the first in line! If you had fought for her and shed your blood for her…. you would look at her a little different. With all her falts and imperfections I still Love Her, My Lover my everthing. God Bless America Land of my Birth and of my forefathers, with the exception of my Grandpapa.

A Tribute to 9/11 Two thousand one, nine eleven / Five thousand plus arrive in heaven. / As they pass through the gate, / Thousands more appear in wait. / A bearded man with stovepipe hat / Steps forward saying, “Lets sit, lets chat.” They settle down in seats of clouds, / A man named Martin shouts out proud, / “I have a dream!” and once he did / The Newcomer said, “Your dream still lives.” Groups of soldiers in blue and gray / Others in khaki, and green then say / “We’re from Bull Run, Yorktown, the Maine” / The Newcomer said, “You died not in vain.” From a man on sticks one could hear / “The only thing we have to fear. / The Newcomer said, “We know the rest, / trust us sir, we’ve passed that test.” “Courage doesn’t hide in caves / You can’t bury freedom, in a grave,” / The Newcomers had heard this voice before / A distinct Yankees twang from Hyannisport shores. Regardless of where we were or if we knew any one who was taken from us that day; we will forever remember the horror and heartbreaking sadness this event caused all over this nation and the world.
